May 2025 is BIZZZZZ-ZEEEE!
I have separate reservations for the 10th, 15th, 16th and 17th, 24th and 25th!

JUNE is not so bizzzzz-zee, I only two wedding and receptions, on June 14th and June 15th!! Anyone needing a great DJ for any other day/night in June?

You are having singers and instrumentalists at your wedding ceremony, and maybe at your reception, in addition to your DJ?

Many couples will have special entertainment for their wedding. Strings are popular, organists and piano players are too. And vocalists.

When you are setting this up, ALWAYS MAKE SURE that your entertainers have their own equipment.

When you ask someone to sing, or someone asks to sing at your wedding, either know that you can provide the microphone and the music source for them or ask them to bring their own. Your facility may only have a mic for the minister; they are not set up to provide for multiple players or bands, because bands bring their own stuff!

And it is important that you discuss this with your DJ.

Recently I was told that in addition to the microphone I was providing the minister and couple, and the prelude music I was going to play, for the ceremony there would be singers, an organist and a string ensemble.

Earlier this year a client wanted to know if they could plug into my system.
The answer was *No, and Yes - for an additional fee*.

My system, like most other Wedding DJs, does not accommodate additional inputs. To make this happen, additional equipment needs to be brought in. And that means you'll pay an extra fee.

In this case I provided an additional 3 dynamic microphones for the singers, a pair of guitar cables and direct boxes for the guitarists, a line cord for the organist, and condenser mics and direct boxes for the strings. This also required mic stands, direct boxes, cabling, power cords, extension cords, a multi-input mixer and powered speakers, with stands.

And it required an extra fee for the transportation, set up, sound check, and break down, plus a second team member to accompany me who monitored the sound for the singers and instrumentalists.

How can you skip this extra expense?
Make sure your extra singers, guitarists, keyboardist and strings can provide their own sound amplification equipment and speakers.

Acquiring your vendors NOW instead of later!

Every month I get at least one call, sometimes many more, from couples who have waited until just a few short months to mere weeks before their wedding to inquire about my services for their wedding and reception. They either put off this investment thinking there is always a DJ available, or were relying on a friend or family member who said they could do the DJing, only to find out that there is an issue and now they need to find a replacement.

FIRST: Don't always rely on the friend or family member to provide you with the Emcee duties and the requested music you will want for your wedding ceremony production and the following reception ceremony and dance music. For the uninitiated, it can be overwhelming.

It takes a dedicated WEDDING DJ to produce the happy results you want for this memorable forever occasion. The tales I've heard about other DJ wannabes who ruined their wedding!

But more importantly, get your DJ and EMCEE combination NOW, instead of later. In this area, there are only a few Wedding experienced DJs and fewer Emcees. That club DJ or Karaoke DJ you hear about? They don't do weddings because of all the music professions, the Wedding DJ is the hardest category to excel in.

Talented Wedding DJs generally will sell out around the first and second quarter of the year for the remaining year into next year.
Waiting to the few months before your wedding, or even weeks, for whatever reason, may lead to disappointment after you discover that all of the local DJs are all taken, and now you must import one from Houston or Austin, which of course will cost you more for travel, lodging and food costs plus the fees for their services for out of town gigs, to bring this talent in.

Wedding shows are just about over for future bride and grooms in West Texas.

There IS still ONE more show this month, at the McNease Convention Center, 501 Rio Concho Drive in San Angelo, Texas on Sunday March 16th from 1 to 5pm.

Billed as the Second Annual Quinceanera and Wedding showcase, I'll be there with special prices to fill out the rest of my calendar for 2025 and 2026.

Best to take advantage of these wedding shows. When April arrives, my rates increase by 25% through the rest of the year!

However, there is a SUMMER SHOW which is always a great time to lock in your remaining last-minute additions for 2025 weddings and 2026 engagements.
