Buying your first home is exciting and here are a few things you should know as a First Time Home Buyers before you begin the process:
1. Never skip an inspection contingency. They are your security net and allow you to back out or negotiate if a major problem appears..
2.Closing costs add up fast. Beyond your down payment expect to pay 2-5% of the total purchase price in closing fees for things like an appraisa, lender fees or title insurance. Budget for these early.
3. Rate shop for a couple of weeks, it could save you thousands. Also keep in mind that those rates can change at any time before you're "locked in".
4. Research the community and not just the house. Visit the neighborhood at different times during the day, look into school ratings and check out local amenities.
