Story time. I once dated this guy in high school who drove a lifted, late model Bronco with all the bells and whistles. One weekend he took it “muddin’.” If you’re from the south, you’ll know what that is. If not, ask, and I’ll explain.
He then drove it through town on a weekend night down the normal cruising route (again, you will understand that was entertainment for our small towns).
He received all sorts of honks and cheers from his peers as he slowly paraded around with dried mud stuck all over his truck.
Trying to understand, I asked him why so many people were making such a big deal — I mean, it’s a truck. And trucks go off road.
He told me “You don’t normally take a $20,000 piece of machinery through the mud.” (*note compared to today’s value, it would be a $100k truck).
In my naive mind I thought to myself, then why do you have a truck? 😂
Now, let’s compare this to kitchen ranges. Of course, this isn’t always the case, but is there any truth to the more expensive the range, the less the person tends to cook? What are your thoughts?
This home boasts a La Cornue range and every room understood the assignment with its finer touches.
Ironically, I recently bought my first off-road vehicle, but I am telling my husband not to take it those places. 😬
