We have been quiet for a while, but will be getting back to work in a few weeks , going to get some more repairs done to the outside, fix the damaged eves, get the bat boxes hung and evict them from the attic, and start on the last of the roof repairs. Going to be an ambitious task list, and hoping to get it all done. So happy though with the progress we have made in a few short months.

Busy week at Pine Ridge, we changed gears and worked on her exterior this week. Before pics and after pics. She is slowly regaining her grace and looking more regal. We hung her flag this weekend and got a great start on the painting. Still have lots more work to do on soffets and facia boards, but with a lot of prep, a new coat of paint and some yard cleanup she is looking spiffy.

So nice seeing her all lit up at night. This was our first night in the house, you could feel the warmth of happy memories being made , of the house breathing again, of the old girl being the protection for another family for generations. There is a quiet beauty of just being in the moment and appreciating how many memories have been made here over the last 250 years.

This beautiful home is celebrating it's 250th birthday this year. The legend is that the final nails of the plantation house were being driven in as the riders came through with the news that we had won our Independence and the war was over. The original deed shows the land was deeded by the king of England. We look forward to posting more about the houses history and mysteries as we bring her back to a functional and lovely space for our family to call home.
