🌿 Today’s Theme: Kindness — The Way We Speak to People Matters
We don’t always get to choose what someone is facing when they cross our path.
But we do get to choose how they feel after crossing ours.
A rushed cashier, an overwhelmed parent, a distracted coworker, a tired spouse, a frustrated child—sometimes the person who seems difficult is simply having a difficult day.
We don’t have to tolerate disrespect, and kindness doesn’t mean abandoning our boundaries.
But there is a big difference between correcting someone and belittling them, between disagreeing and humiliating them, between being firm and being cruel.
Our words can become one more weight someone carries home.
Or they can become the unexpected kindness that made a hard day feel a little easier.
We may never know which one they needed.
So whenever we can, let’s choose the words we’d hope someone would choose for us. ❤️
🌿 Heart Challenge: Before responding to someone today—especially when you’re irritated—ask yourself, “Can I say what needs to be said without making this person feel small?”
Leave every heart a little lighter than you found it.
