This week’s spotlight Mike Kozminski!

Mike is the Co-Host of the Tailgate Talks podcast, with other Co-Hosts Alex Brown and Dom Kaiser, started as Boro Tailgate Talks founded by Richie Armagost in 2022,rebranded to Tailgate Talks in 2024, Tailgate Talks caught the eye of Isaac Petkac the former host of the Critical I on Erie News Now and had the guys on the show twice,the show covers sports around the world, Interviews Edinboro Athletes like Reed Martin,Ang Anderson,Thomas Buchard,Berna Zukina,CJ Wailder,Kaylee Lauriel,Baylee Welling,and many more!

When asking Mike what inspired him to produce Tailgate Talks he said that
“Watching people like Pat Mcafee, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Chris Van Vliet,and Chris Jericho doing podcasts and the fact nobody was doing a podcast on campus covering Edinboro sports and being our schools sports podcast is so cool and another thing that inspired me was getting work on camera before I go into the pro wrestling world.”

Today’s spotlight is Bailey Mutschler!

Bailey is the DJ of The Sound Wave which focuses mostly on alternative, indie, rock, and various sub genres and combinations of the three. Each Week, you can get a splash of my favorite animals, conspiracy theories, what’s on my mind, and my personal pick from the show! Be sure to catch The Sound Wave from 2 to 3 P.M. on Thursdays. Hope to catch you riding the next wave! 

When we asked Bailey who/what inspired her, she said “Our advisor Dr. Ron Raymond inspired me to join radio. Sharing the same tastes in classic rock, alternative, and indie music, he thought I would be the perfect fit for the station. I never would have gotten over my mic fright and taken that leap if it weren’t for him!”

WFSE takes on NYC! This past week, WFSE attended the IBS (Intercollegiate Broadcasting System) Conference. We learned about podcasting, branding, concert coverage, underwriting, community connections, and station swag. We also listened to Al Roker and Paul "Cubby" Bryant during their keynote speeches. But being in NYC, we had to go to MoMA, the Lego Store, the Public Library, Times Square, and Central Park. We ate a lot of delicious food like pizza and bagels (although not as good as ) and are ready to bring back everything we learned!
