Please Read! Reflect! And Rise!
Dear friends, brothers and sisters of Tamil Nadu
Today our hearts are heavy, our eyes are wet, our souls tremble with grief. Forty-one precious lives, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters, were lost in Karur Tamil Nadu. It is not just a number, it is forty-one worlds shattered. To every family that has lost a loved one, we bow our heads and extend our deepest, heartfelt condolences. To every person injured or traumatized by this tragedy, our prayers, our thoughts, and our unwavering support are with you.
No political ambition, no campaign, no rally is worth even a single human life. Yet here we are, mourning forty-one. This is not only a tragedy, it is a wake-up call for our collective conscience.
And yet, as we mourn, we must also open our eyes. We must not be blinded by IT cell propaganda and TV channels one sided coverage. We must not allow grief to be weaponized into false narratives. We must not let the innocent be blamed while the guilty hide in the shadows.
This tragedy happened during the rally of a man who, as a single individual, as a one-man army, has shaken the political foundations of Tamil Nadu. Many great movie stars promised to enter politics but faltered. Many were mocked and ridiculed. But this one man, amidst insults and skepticism, stood his ground and earned the love and hope of the people, especially the youth.
They call his followers “illiterate” “தற்குறி” and “just cinema fans.” But let us remember, every great Dravidian party, the ruling party, the opposition, any party, was built on cinema, hero worship, and mass movements. When the old order uses cinema for its own power, it is called “Dravidian Tradition.” When a new voice rises from cinema with honesty, it is called “threat”, he is called “illiterate” “தற்குறி”.
The truth is simple, his rallies, his conference, his speeches, his courage have rattled the powers that be. They have tried to dismiss him in many ways. They tried to ignore him. They have tried to silence him. And now, some say, they may have tried to destroy him, by this political tragedy.
Journalists warned us two weeks ago, “Beware. Those threatened by his rise may resort to conspiracies, to accidents, to violence.” History repeats itself. In the days of MGR, in the days of Vijayakanth, growing leaders faced orchestrated chaos. Police forces were misused. Mobs were sent. Lives were lost.
And now in Karur, again, darkness descended, electricity cut, ambulances misused, chaos unleashed. People fainting, people trampled, people dying. And before the dead were buried, the blame was shifted. The victim became the villain. The leader who drew the crowd was accused of their deaths.
Friends, let us be clear. An actor, a leader, does not come to a rally to kill his supporters. He comes to serve, to speak, to inspire. The people who deliberately gave a narrow venue, the forces that orchestrated this stampede, the forces who were threatened by his rise, the eye witnesses say the preparedness and all prepared strategy of those who want to destroy him. They must be held accountable.
They say, “He did not come on time.” In Tamil Nadu politics, no rally or political meeting starts on time.
He didn’t leave Chennai on time, he was not coming by local bus, guess some of those don’t know how much time flight needs to reach. They say, “He left the spot, he ran away.”
When your life is under attack, leaving is not cowardice, it is prudence. It’s the best thing to do when your life is under attack. They say, “He did not visit the families immediately.” Just imagine when a man of his mass presence goes to a tragedy site, another stampede can happen. This is not avoidance, it is responsibility. His presence and responsibility are conveniently used for false accusations by their own media, IT wings, IT cells and paid so called journalists.
We must also look at the role of some parts of these media, not all, but those who survive on government advertisements, ownership by party men, party patronage and payment by political party. They twist truth into accusation. They attack genuine journalists who speak up. They smear them as RSS, Sangi, Fake News, traitors or propagandists. Anyone asking for the truth is silenced by arrest and dictatorship of ruling party. They silence dissent by labeling the BJP, RSS, Sangi and Fake news. In reality they are busy in building a False and Fake narrative to protect their local party men and accuse the actor.
But my friends, truth cannot be silenced forever. Justice cannot be delayed forever. Change cannot be stopped forever. This tragedy, though heartbreaking, reveals something powerful, the old political order is afraid. They are afraid of a new Tamil Nadu. They are afraid of youth who dare to hope. They are afraid of a one man army who has built a movement beyond their imagination.
And so, as we mourn the 41 lives lost, let us also honor them with our courage. Let us honor them by demanding justice, fair investigation, transparency, and accountability. Let us honor them by rejecting lies, false narratives and standing for truth. Let us honor them by remembering that Tamil Nadu’s history has always been shaped by ordinary people who stood up to extraordinary power.
We cannot bring back the 41 lives lost. But we can ensure they did not die in vain. We can ensure their deaths become the catalyst for a safer, freer, and more honest Tamil Nadu. A New Tamil Nadu built by youth whom they call illiterate and தற்குறி.
May their souls rest in peace. May justice prevail. May truth triumph. And may the spirit of the people, our people, Tamil people never be broken. Please share and forward.
