Erased From History: Robert F. Williams, the North Carolina Man Who Inspired the Black Panthers

A convoy of hooded night riders showed up at a Black doctor's house expecting an easy kill. They found sixty armed Black veterans waiting instead — the Black Armed Guard, built by Robert F. Williams after he turned a six-member NAACP chapter in Monroe, North Carolina into two hundred members, chartered by the National Rifle Association itself. The NAACP suspended him for it. He fled through Canada to Cuba, broadcast Radio Free Dixie into the South from Havana, then lived in China as Mao Zedong's guest. In 1996, Rosa Parks gave his eulogy. Say his name.

Erased From History: Valaida Snow, the Trumpet Queen Louis Armstrong Called Untouchable

Louis Armstrong once said only one trumpet player alive was better than her — himself. Then the N***s erased her so completely most people are seeing her for the first time today. Her name was Valaida Snow. She'd mastered ten instruments by fifteen, and W.C. Handy crowned her Queen of the Trumpet by seventeen — the Queen of the Netherlands even handed her a solid gold trumpet. She lived like royalty across Europe while America wouldn't let her through the front door. In 1941, the N***s arrested her in occupied Denmark and held her eighteen months in a Copenhagen prison. She never got her sound back, and on May 30, 1956, she collapsed backstage at the Palace Theatre in New York, still booked, and died at fifty-two. Say her name, so the erasure finally fails.

Daywalker Vampire Anime: Black Anime Characters Take On Five Military Units Alone

Everyone else went to find their own war tonight. Severin was in Vegas. Seraphina was burning down Canada. Cassian and Lucian were chasing land in Jersey. That left Valentina Devereaux alone in a building they'd decided was undefended — five military units, a pack of hybrids stacked in behind them. It didn't scare her. It excited her. She fought through all of it with Scarlet Kiss and the Requiem Blade, and by the time she stopped counting, she was smiling with their blood on her teeth. They should have sent twice as many.
