Who remembers this adorable little gray chick, Sq**rt!? ✨🩶
Here’s a little update on them! 🥰 Sq**rt is now 9 weeks old and has turned into an absolute fluff! Because they were from my last hatch of the season and I knew I’d be growing this group of birds out fully, I never had any of them gender DNA tested.
I had some rotten luck with my grays this year. I only hatched 10, and 9 of them ended up being little cockerels. 🥲 Sq**rt was the 10th and last gray to hatch, and I’ve been playing the guessing game ever since!
I feel by this age I usually have a pretty good idea of who is male and who is female, but Sq**rt has a very girly-looking brother, so I could definitely be fooled! I’ve been keeping that in mind. 😅
BUT… I think I might have finally gotten my gray girl! Because to me, this little one is absolutely radiating girl energy. 💕 Attitude and posture are things I take into consideration, and by this age I usually start seeing that little “boy stance” come in, along with the bickering toward the other lads in their pen. Sq**rt has been acting like a little lady would.
So, I’m feeling pretty hopeful that I finally bred a gray girl! 🥹🩶
