El Paso Street is one of the oldest streets in El Paso! It stands as one of El Paso's most historic streets, established in 1881. Having evolved architecturally from adobe buildings to brick and mortar structures, which many still stand.

Notably, illustrious figures such as Billy the Kid, Wyatt Earp, Pancho Villa, and U.S. President Taft have strolled along this storied street, which has blossomed into a vibrant commercial hub.

The O. T. Bassett Tower, situated in Downtown El Paso, is a notable 15-story Art Deco skyscraper featuring a dual-tower setback design reminiscent of iconic New York City structures such as the Chrysler Building. Constructed by Charles N. Bassett in tribute to his father, the building was designed by the architectural firm Trost & Trost and completed in 1930.

Above the primary entrance, a sculpted round-faced man with a distinctive walrus mustache, believed to be Trost himself, is prominently displayed. The tower's upper section features ten stylized stone eagles, evocative of medieval European architectural classics, positioned below the green copper roof. This skyscraper exemplifies architectural excellence.

El Paso’s Scenic Drive! As early as 1881, El Paso leaders promoted the idea of creating a place along the base of the Franklin Mountains to provide visitors a panoramic view of the area.

The automobile brought new attention to the idea, and in October 1920, the route became a popular attraction. It continues to attract visitors to the view of El Paso, Ciudad Juárez and the surrounding Chihuahuan desert.

The Plaza Theatre was built in 1930 and it is a historic landmark in El Paso, Texas. It has Spanish Colonial Revival architecture with hand painted ceilings and elaborate wrought ironwork. It was vacant for some time then re-opened in 2006.

Deservingly, it has once again been ranked among the most prestigious performing arts venues in the world, as it was named the highest-grossing venue in Texas. It is #1 in the state and #22 in the world.

We have all seen movies, concerts, comedy shows and many different performances there. So much fun and it is absolutely stunning!

What a sight!!! The Kress marquee is lit up, after many years! El Kress !!!!

It was built in 1937 in a Art Deco/Spanish style five-and-dime store w/Moorish & American Indian influences designed by Edward F. Sibbert. The bell tower reflects the Anglo, Indian, Spanish, and Mexican cultures of El Paso. It functioned as a carillon and was wired for both chimes and lighting. I can’t wait the doors to re-open!

Today marks six years that our city was racially attacked where we tragically lost 23 people at the Walmart shooting.

My heart goes out to the victims, their families and to the people that were present that day that are still dealing with trauma issues.

I want to go see!!! Great progress at the Wyler Aerial Tramway!

If you live in the Summit Place (along Alabama Street) , you hear the constant thumping on ground and hear drilling in the mornings. It seems like they’re making it much bigger and rommier up there.

Can’t wait to ride the gondolas!
