I want to go see!!! Great progress at the Wyler Aerial Tramway!

If you live in the Summit Place (along Alabama Street) , you hear the constant thumping on ground and hear drilling in the mornings. It seems like they’re making it much bigger and rommier up there.

Can’t wait to ride the gondolas!

Taking in the breathtaking views from above, the scenic beauty of El Paso and Juarez unfolds.

In the heart of it all lies the stunning Chamizal Park, a tranquil oasis amidst the vibrant cityscape.

And on the mountain, the iconic 'J' stands tall, a symbol of Jefferson High School pride and community spirit.

El Paso’s first municipal Christmas tree was erected in 1916 in Pioneer Plaza, having arrived from the Sacramento mountains. The tree stood on a wide base of lumber built in the center of the Downtown plaza and supported by wires to prevent the wind from blowing it over.

Fast forward to more recent times. The San Jacinto Plaza 40-foot “living” pine tree was donated in 1998 by West Side resident Corrine Boyce in memory of her late husband, Charles.

It was damaged during the remodeling project of the plaza, but it survived.

Back in 1909 the National Humane Alliance donated this Animal Watering Fountain. The water flows from two lions mouths into a polished granite bowl. The upper bowl served as a watering trough for horses and mules and the four small cups at the base were for dogs and cats. This fountain has been in operation for over a century here in El Paso.

Have you noticed this beautiful historical pink building on El Paso Street in Downtown?
Notice the Franklin Mountains behind it.

The Hollands building was built in 1883 (see old photo), and it was the El Paso County’s first headquarters. In later decades it housed the Texas Furniture Company. It still has lots of its original beauty.
