🎧 Weird Tales from El Paso episode 7 is out now, available wherever you listen to your podcasts! 🎧

The name Richard Ramirez is etched into the dark history of American True Crime as a monster who terrorized California in the 1980s. But long before the headlines and the “Night Stalker’s” rise to fame, he was just a kid from El Paso. And to a little girl named Rosie, he was simply Tío Richie.

In this episode of Weird Tales from El Paso, we’re moving beyond the paranormal to focus on a story of healing and survival. I sit down with Rosie Juarez to discuss her new memoir, His Niece:“Love Always, Your Tio Richie” and the Silence That Followed.

This is a grounded conversation about a childhood caught between ordinary family moments and extraordinary trauma, the resilience of the human spirit, and the light on the other side of a thirty-year silence.

New art, new episode!
Weird Tales from El Paso returns next week, and we’re starting Vol. 3 a little differently. Check back on Tuesday for a conversation with local author Rosie Juarez , as she opens up about her journey of survival, and what it took to put her story into her new book, His Niece: “Love Always, Your Tio Richie” and the Silence That Followed.

We go deep into the reality of growing up as the niece of Richard Ramirez, the immense weight of breaking decades of silence, and what it means to finally reclaim her own narrative.
See you next week...

Well, I think it’s time for a podcast check-in!

We’re a few months into 2026, and to say the world feels a little crazy right now would be an understatement. But as crazy and scary as things seem at times, the show must go on. For me, that means diving back into some weird tales.

Like I promised last year, I’m never going to put out a half-baked episode just to feed the algorithm. I’m heading back into production mode with ideas for what I hope will become cool new episodes of WTF El Paso, plus a few other surprises and collaborations I’m hoping to get rolling. Any guesses on what they might be?

This somewhat tentative plan might be a little ambitious, but I’m going to try my best to accomplish everything I’m teasing here. I won’t know unless I try, right? Still, excited to get back to work and explore the creative possibilities, and I can’t wait to show y’all what we’ve got cooking!

Thank you to my listeners for the listens, the great reviews, and for sticking with me on this spooky ride. 🖤👻

Been quiet around here, hasn’t it?

It’s been a wild year full of huge life changes, a lot of growth, and plenty of deep reflection. Some of it has been amazing (like getting married this past Halloween!), and some… not so amazing. That’s life. And when things get complicated, our hobbies and passion projects are usually the first things to take a hit.

With WTF El Paso, the level of research, scheduling, scripting, recording, and sound design that goes into each episode is a lot, and I just haven’t had the capacity these last few months to produce something new worth sharing. I never want to release a half-baked episode just to feed the algorithm. If it isn’t something I’m proud of, I’d rather hit pause.

So this post is just a quick check-in to say there won’t be any new episodes for the rest of the year as I had hoped, but that doesn’t mean things are dead. Far from it, actually. I already have some cool ideas and topics lined up for the new year, along with a few other surprises I’m excited about.

Thank you all for your patience and for sticking with me on this spooky, weird, sometimes complicated ride. 2026 is going to be a good year (hopefully 🤞) with plenty of weird tales to explore.

In the meantime, feel free to catch up on any episodes you might have missed, revisit your favorites, leave a review, or share the show with someone who loves a spooky good time. And please reach out if you have your own spooky tale or experience to share! This project continues to be a priority for me, and it’s something that has helped me connect more with my community and grow as a creator.

Thanks again for listening.

Keep it weird, El Paso 💀

All 5-star reviews and comments like these. This kind of feedback was something I hoped for but never really expected when I started "WTF El Paso." My main goal was to learn more about my city’s culture and folklore and share it creatively with a handful of others. I never imagined the response the podcast has gotten, and I’m beyond grateful for it.

That said, the full review also mentioned, “I wish Adrian would post more.” Honestly, I wish I could too. While I couldn’t do this without the support of my guests, friends, and family, at the end of the day I’m still a one-man podcast band doing this in my free time. That means splitting up hours of research, scripting, recording, and then editing, all around everything else going on in my life.

I decided early on that I’d rather take my time and put out the best episodes I can instead of rushing out something half-baked and mediocre, and so far I think that was the right call.

Thanks to my listeners for sticking with me on this spooky ride, and if you think others would like to take a listen, please share this page and the podcast to spread the word. 🖤👻
