The bell hasn’t even rung, and somehow I’m already emotionally exhausted. 😩

School counselor life can go from “I need coffee” to “I need 14 of me” in about 30 seconds. Between supporting students, answering questions, managing crises, and trying to remember what I walked into the office for… some mornings are a lot.

But if you’re tired before the first bell, you’re not alone. 🫶

You don’t have to have it all together to be a great counselor. You just have to keep showing up with care, compassion, and maybe a very large coffee. ☕️

Save this for the morning you need the reminder, and tag a school counselor who gets it.

POV: You stopped waiting for the perfect time and started creating the life you kept talking about. ✨

Now I’m a little busy helping teens build confidence, get organized, and feel ready for what’s next. 💻

Your dream doesn’t need perfect timing—it needs a first step. 💛

Wednesday nights hit different when you’ve spent all day being a school counselor and then realize… I DON’T HAVE TO LOG ON TONIGHT. 🙌😂

No tutoring.
No Zoom.
No extra work.
Just dinner, a little quiet, and pretending I’m not going to check my work email. 😅

If you work all day and then have a second shift waiting for you at night… you know exactly what I mean. ❤️

Tell me: What does your perfect night OFF look like? 👇

A school counselor’s morning routine looks peaceful from the outside… ☕💡📧

But behind that first sip of coffee is a mental checklist of students, schedules, emails, testing, meetings, problems to solve, and about 47 things nobody put on the calendar. 😂

Tell me you’re a school counselor without telling me you’re a school counselor. 👇

🚨 School counselor reminder: YOU ARE HUMAN. 🚨

You’re not a bad counselor because you didn’t answer every email.
You’re not a bad counselor because a student is upset with you.
You’re not a bad counselor because you actually need a lunch break.
You’re not a bad counselor because you can’t fix every problem in one day.

You can care deeply about your students AND have boundaries. ❤️

Sometimes being a GREAT counselor means knowing when to step back, breathe, eat your lunch, and remind yourself:

“I’m doing the best I can with what I have today.”

School counselors… what’s one thing you need to give yourself permission to stop feeling guilty about? 👇🏽

Tutoring can wait… because this weekend, I’m choosing the bleachers. ⚾️❤️

There will always be another weekend to work, but there won’t always be another season of watching my boy play.

Parents, be honest… would you take the weekend off too in this economy ? 👀👇

My 18-year-old college son randomly messaged me with a LIFE UPDATE. 😭🥹

No “How are you?”
No “Can you send me money?” 😂
No mom interrogation required.

HE JUST TOLD ME. ON HIS OWN. 🥹

Moms of college kids… you know this is basically a handwritten love letter. 😂❤️

I’ll take the unsolicited life updates whenever they come.

There are some goodbyes that hit a little differently. 💔

I left my second child at college, and my mama heart is having a REALLY hard time with it. I’m so incredibly proud of the young man he’s becoming, but that doesn’t make walking away any easier.

I miss him already. I miss his voice, his presence, his random conversations, and just knowing he’s under my roof.

I know this is what we raise our babies for—to grow, to become independent, to chase their dreams. But nobody warns you how much it hurts to watch them leave.

So tonight, I’m letting myself be sad. I’m letting myself miss him. And I’m reminding myself that missing him this much is just proof of how deeply I love him. ❤️

Go chase those dreams, kid. Mom will be right here…missing you every single day. 🥹🎓❤️

24th FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL as a school counselor. 🎒☕️

I packed my lunch. 🥪
I walked in feeling prepared, well sort of. ✨
I had a plan.
I had confidence.
I had absolutely NO business feeling that confident. 😂

Because approximately 7 minutes into the day, I realized…

I FORGOT TO CLOCK IN. 🤦‍♀️😂

And that lunch I packed?
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s see how long THAT lasts. 😏

Cheers to another school year of counseling kids, solving problems, answering 937 questions before 9 AM, and pretending I have it all together.

Day 1 of 24… here we go! 🍎✏️😂

I don’t know who gets more excited… my dog or the neighbor. 😂 Tell me your pet has a best friend without telling me. 🐾 ...
