Are you thinking about saving some old movie film or tapes to a modern format to surprise someone for Christmas? Its hot and summertime now but will soon be time to dig the film/tapes out of the closet, put them in an obvious place as a reminder, and decide what you want (files on thumbdrive is most common). And then take action. Have a safe July 4th.

Our thoughts are with those in the east with water damage from Hurricane Florence. And want to remind everyone that water and dirt damage to video tapes is almost always recoverable and water and dirt damage to movie film can sometimes be recovered. Keep them cool while getting organized. Time is not on your side if you have this damage, best to get them to us quickly. Best.

We are still trying to figure this Facebook thing out, it rarely does what we expect and never looks like we want.

Anyway some recent news for us: we recently recovered a VHS tape buried in a person's yard in Louisiana put there during Hurricane Katrina 10+ years ago! It arrived completely full of dirt and part of the case missing. After much cleaning and recovery, it plays- all-be-it not wonderfully- but very much watchable and has sound. It turns out to be someone's wedding video. How rewarding to save something like this after so much time.
