5 facts about the queen bee 🐝

🐝 No queen bee = no hive. So to ensure there is a queen, the worker bees produce many queens, and the strongest queen will kill the others to take her reign.

🐝 The queen bee mates only once in her life and stores the s***m to draw from for the rest of her life.

🐝 Unlike worker bees jagged stingers, the queen's is smooth so she is able to retract it and resuse it many times without dying.

🐝 The queen lives for an average of 5 years while the worker bees live for only 6-20 weeks.

🐝 The queen does not eat honey, but instead feasts on royal jelly - created for her and her larvae by the worker bees.

For members there they will be able to be there 11-1
For public it will be 1-6.

We are rescheduling the BGO Plant Sale, originally planned for April 26 and 27, due to inclement weather.

The BGO Plant Sale is now scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 4, from 11 am to 6 pm inside the Event Hall and on the Great Lawn. BGO members will enjoy early access to the sale from 11 am to 1 pm and the public will be able to purchase items from 1 to 6 pm.

If you have already registered, your ticket remains valid.

All other details remain unchanged.

Come see us this Saturday!!! We have over 72 Vendors, Kid Zone with Santa, Scrooge, and the Grinch plus Petting Zoo & Pony Rides!!! We will have a live band in the tire shop from 1 pm to 4 pm!! We can’t wait to have yall come out!!!
