A dense dog advisory will be in effect from midnight tonight until 9am Thursday morning.

Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog may be possible for portions of central, east central, south central, southeast, southwest, and west central Minnesota until 9am Thursday.

Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Drive with caution and put the phones away. Donā€™t forget to turn your headlights on too!

I'm still seeing some severe weather opportunities in the middle of September with a favorable upper-air pattern in place. As I've said before, low-level moisture tends to be limited, but these incoming troughs and strong mid-level flow should draw in enough low-level moisture.

Despite some challenges this year, 2025 in terms of a storm chase season couldnā€™t really have gone any better, except for maybe June and beyond but thatā€™s chasing šŸ¤·

So much incredible footage from chases that had us driving non stop abandoning Dixie targets for the plains. 3 or 4 of those times either all or mostly all paid off. Especially driving 400-800 miles away from one setup to the next, arriving right on time perfectly positioned for a show.

I look back and go, how the hell did we manage to get through the spring season? Behind the scenes has been quite the challenge this season, yet we persevered time and time again and kept searching for that ā€œshotā€.

I turn 24 tomorrow, and I know the future is bright despite these seemingly never ending challenges. I love a good challenge, but oh man šŸ˜† I canā€™t wait to get back out there under the meso! šŸŒ©ļø

Today, mostly cloudy, highs in the kids 70s with a light wind from the SW at 5 to 10mph.

Tonight, scattered thunderstorms 45% chance with lows down to the mid 50s.

We have another shot at rain Saturday otherwise a rather comfortable week ahead and mild summer weather!

Hereā€™s another possible outcome tonight via the HRRR model.

This model highlights scattered showers and thunderstorms initiating around 5 or 6pm across southern Minnesota.

Northern Minnesota too has a fairly good chance at seeing some rain showers today mainly in the Iron Range region extend east towards Lake Superior.
