Rebecca Bonnette Announces Re-election Bid for Calhoun County Council District 3
SANDY RUN, SC — Incumbent Councilwoman Rebecca Bonnette officially announced today that she will seek re-election to the Calhoun County Council, representing District 3. First elected in 2022, Bonnette has been a vocal advocate for the Sandy Run community and intends to build upon her record of fiscal responsibility and community engagement.
During her first term, Councilwoman Bonnette focused on increasing transparency in local government, voting against tax increases, and supporting critical county services. Notably, she voted against the County-Wide Fire Service in alignment with the wishes of the Sandy Run Fire Department.
Councilwoman Bonnette also supports local organizations, has organized community events, and launched a program for youth to gain community service hours by participating in litter pick-up initiatives. Most recently, in December 2025, she has been active in community outreach, including supporting the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services Division.
"I am honored to serve the people of Sandy Run and Calhoun County," said Bonnette. "My commitment remains standing up for what is best for our district, ensuring our voices are heard at the council table, and maintaining the unique character of our community while managing growth responsibly."
The primary election for Calhoun County Council is scheduled for June 9, 2026, with official filing beginning in March 2026. For further information, please contact Rebecca Bonnette at 803-928-6111
