I always wanted to go see this bridge & I had some time today. I found a random place to park & found a trail lol it's a beautiful area & very well kept other than a few random pop bottles/cans people left. 😑 It is by Rose Point campground.
The water was low, so walking the smaller crick bed was fun. When the water is high, steer clear of the cricks unless you are experinced with such conditions. Tons of people have drown in the Slippery Rock crick. They don't call it Slippery Rock for nothing. 💁‍♀️
Oh! & of course the one time I don't have my swimsuit on, I find a sweet swimminghole with a natural waterslide. 🤦‍♀️ Lesson learned lol
Wandering in the woods is so much fun & genuinely makes me happy. There is always something to see & I literally never get bored. 😌🍃

Went on a hike at the end of a big thunderstorm Saturday. The amount of rain we had was insane.. it literally came down in buckets as evidenced by the flooding 😂
Yours truly didn't have the normal gear, so I trekked in my old hey dudes with zero traction & only ran in place once on a hill 🤭

Did you know 💡
-It only takes about 6 inches of water to knock a person off of their feet & make a car hard to steer
-1 foot of water can float a small car
-2 feet of water can move heavier vehicles like trucks & suv's
-Water traveling at a speed of 4mph+ can be as strong as tornadoes & move large boulders like they are nothing

Hiking in the rain may be miserable for some, but for me... I find the beauty in nature. 😌
I get super excited when I stumbled upon a waterfall. The sound of water is one of the most calming sounds 😌

Adjacent to the Roadside Trail sits the Civilian Conservation Corps Pumphouse, also known as the "witches hut" or the "hobbit house", at Coopers Rock State Forest. 🧙‍♀️🪄
The name is merely based on looks rather than folklore.

This structure was built in the 1930's as a springhouse/water pump shelter for folks visiting the overlook & picnic areas.
It is 1 of the 11 structures in the forest part of the Coopers Rock Historic District.
