Ampersand Literary & Arts Magazine

Ampersand Literary & Arts Magazine The Ampersand is Emory & Henry College's student literary and arts magazine dating back to 1979.

The Ampersand, created in 1979, is a literary tradition of Emory & Henry that seeks to expose the creativity and talent of our community here in Southwest Virginia. We encourage students to share their unique voice, whether it be through poetry, prose, photography, etc. so that our campus can experience not only the individuality of student work, but also the unity that comes from embracing the literary arts.

The deadline for submissions to The Ampersand has been extended to March 21. Tell your friends & spread the word! We want to see what creativity this campus holds.

Take advantage of spring break to explore what "individualism" means to you and create something... a poem or short story, a piece of artwork, or a song.. whatever suits your fancy!

Happy Sunday friends!

I know it can be tempting to procrastinate deadlines, but don't let the deadline for the Ampersand submissions go whooshing by! Submission deadline is March 14 and can be sent to [email protected].

Don't forget to submit to the Ampersand your original work of poetry, short fiction or artwork of any kind... be creative, folks! We are also looking to create a CD for original spoken word poetry or music, so please share your talents! The submission deadline is March 14, and all work can be sent to [email protected] (or under her door at Sullins 102). Spread the word, friends! We want to share the unique talents of our community!

Hello friends!

I'd like to announce that this spring's issue of Ampersand is now accepting submissions. The theme for this issue is "individualism," so get your creative juices flowing and submit original creative work (poetry, prose, drawings, photos, etc.) that reflects the idea of individualism, whatever it may mean to you. The deadline for submissions is March 14 and all work can be sent to Gabby Gregory at [email protected]. If you'd prefer to remain anonymous in the publication, please feel free to leave your name out of the body of the work. Furthermore, if you want to remain anonymous throughout the whole process (meaning that even the editors and staff of Ampersand wouldn't know who you are) feel free to slide a copy of your work under Gabby's door at Sullins 102.
We look forward to reading and reviewing all of the creative loveliness that you have to offer, so please share your talents with us and the rest of the Emory & Henry community!

P.S. If there are any questions regarding this process, please let us know. Happy Scribblings!
