We all get a little impulsive sometimes. Luckily, I was able to get her in for a last minute appointment to go from box dye (Loreal hi-color. IYKYK 👀) to a fresh copper just in time for her birthday. I used K18 PRO Stylist Community to keep her hair’s integrity, Pulp Riot Hair Color Lightener to gently lift without damaging her curls, and Schwarzkopf Professional USA Igora 7-77 to give us the perfect not to light, not too dark copper.

Protein overload and hard water build up both cause rough, stiff, and straw like hair, but the root causes and the remedies are different. Everyone is talking about over-proteinization on social media, but chances are that if you’re using your hair products as directed, that’s probably not your problem. Before dumping all of your protein containing products in a landfill, consider getting a chelating treatment at a salon or adding an at home hard water treatment to your routine to see if there’s improvement first. And LA, I’m sorry if I’m the one telling you this for the very first time, but we have extremely hard water 🥲
