I took this photo in Flåm, Norway during a heritage trip with my mom, my mother-in-law, and my two daughters—a multigenerational journey I’ll never forget. Flåm is tucked deep in the Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the world-famous Sognefjord, and it feels like a storybook come to life. Steep cliffs, winding waterfalls, and quiet waters surround this little village, creating a sense of calm and wonder that’s hard to describe until you’ve stood there yourself.
We had just stepped off the Flåm Railway, one of the steepest train lines in the world, and wandered down to the fjord where the water was mirror-like. The light danced on the surface, the mountains wrapped us in stillness, and I paused to take it all in—grateful for this time together and for the beauty of Norway.
