Road Closure on Portions of North 23rd for Asphalt Overlay

WHEN: Wednesday, February 26th to Thursday, February 27th

WHERE: North 23rd Street from East Oak Avenue to East Cypress Avenue

WHY: For asphalt overlay

DETAILS: There will be a road closure on a portion of North 23rd Street from East Oak
Avenue and East Cypress Avenue. The road will be closed to through traffic allowing crews to complete an asphalt overlay.

During this construction effort, residents are requested to find alternative parking, as there will be no access to driveways.

This closure is expected to last approximately two days and will be contingent on weather.

Motorist are encouraged to follow posted traffic control signs and to drive with extreme caution in the area during construction.

Traffic Cabinet Replacement at South Monroe and Owen K Garriott prompts 4-Way Stop

WHEN: Thursday, February 27th between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHERE: Intersection of South Monroe Street and Owen K Garriott Road

DETAILS: Traffic signal crews will be replacing the traffic control cabinet at the intersection of South Monroe Street and Owen K Garriott Road.

This effort will prompt several brief periods for the intersection to operate
as a 4-way stop, with stop signs placed for in all four directions between
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Motorists are encouraged to follow posted traffic control signs and to
drive with extreme caution in this area.

Inclement Weather Prompts Recycling Center Closure & Potential Solid Waste Services Delays

WHAT: Recycling Center closed temporarily and Potential Delays in Solid Waste Services

WHEN: Monday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 21

DETAILS: The City of Enid announced that the Recycling Center will be closed Monday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 21 due to anticipated freezing temperatures.
Residents are advised to expect potential delays in trash collection, as the extremely low temperatures may cause the hydraulics in trash trucks to freeze, resulting in operational disruptions.

City of Enid to host Town Hall Meeting for Brookside Subdivision Park Development

WHERE: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Complex (City Hall) 401 West Owen K. Garriott Road Enid, Oklahoma 73701

DETAILS: The City of Enid invites residents of the Brookside subdivision to a town hall meeting to discuss the future development of Brookside Park. The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at city hall on Thursday, Feb. 27.

This gathering will provide an opportunity for community members to share their ideas and preferences for the design and features of the new park. Representatives from the City of Enid Parks and Recreation Department and the Enid Parks Board will be present to gather input and ensure the park becomes a valuable and enjoyable resource for the neighborhood.

Residents are encouraged to attend and contribute their vision for Brookside Park, helping shape a space that meets the needs and desires of the community.

2025 Presidents’ Day Closings and Schedules

WHAT: Trash Schedule and Closings for Presidents’ Day

WHEN: Monday, February 17th

DETAILS: In observance of the Presidents’ Day, federally and officially observed as Washington’s Birthday, the City of Enid Administration offices, Enid Animal Welfare, Enid Public Library and Recycle Center will be closed on Monday, February 17th.

Additionally, the Enid Public Transportation Authority (EPTA) will be closed on Monday, February 17th.

The Landfill will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Meadowlake Golf Course will open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, February 17th.

NOTE: All trash routes will remain the same for the holiday. There will be no changes to trash schedules.

WHY: Waterline tie-in at Water Plant No. 1

DETAILS: The City of Enid has announced a notice for water consumption due to a scheduled waterline tie-in at Water Plant No. 1 located at the 1500 Block of West Chestnut.

This necessary work will be conducted by contractors and city staff, resulting in decreased water pressure and quantity throughout the city.

Some of the ways to conserve water:
▪ Turning off the water while brushing your teeth
▪ Reducing shower time
▪ Limit outdoor water use
▪ Report any water leaks
