How to Use Exit Tickets in Online Learning

Help optimize student understanding during online learning through the use of exit tickets. Sophie Murphy discusses using exit tickets to help students see where they are at in their learning.

"Differentiation is huge because in my class I have one kid who is here, and I have one who is at like a 3rd grade level. So having that differentiation option and the resources that are attached online or in the book is huge."

The New Normal of Learning: Build Back Better | Corwin Connect

"We have a chance to truly make a difference to the quality, the teaching, the learning, the outcomes of schooling by using this unexpected ‘experiment’ to bring a ‘new normal’ of teaching and learning". Researcher John Hattie on learning new methods from the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Linkedin We have so much to learn from the recent “pandemic teaching and learning” experience. The strongest message is to learn from what went well during COVID, and ensure we do NOT return to the old ‘grammar of schooling’. […]

This book is for anyone who wants to learn precalculus and calculus in a fun and easy way. The book has clear explanations, gives simple problems with answers and explanations, and includes colorful, engaging illustrations and graphics. It will give students a huge head start with the advanced math that is introduced in high school. It is also extremely helpful for older students struggling at all in this subject. I wish my own daughter had had a book like this – that is why I wrote it! Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GJBL5R9 Please check out my other, non-math-related book that focuses on fun, creative drawing and writing. Here is the link on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0578802236 Thank you! Serena Swegle
Question for BigIdeas online users, we are trying to help my son input answers with fractions and every single one is showing as wrong. We are not putting them in the correct way, can anyone help explain what we are doing wrong? TIA!
Will someone please help me understand how this program works? Is there a textbook to purchase? Is it all online? How do we access additional resources?
Thank you for updating the ability to type our own times when creating an assignment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been having extremely a hard time getting someone to help me with this program. My school bought it several weeks ago and I have yet been able to get my students access to the program. I have tried numerous times to contact the company but to no avail. I received an email today finally and that does not solve the problem. Could someone please help me gain access for my students? We come back in person in two weeks and I need to be ready with this. Thank you.
I'm new to BIM. I just created a practice assignment, saved it, even printed it out. Now I can't find it to schedule the assignment. I'm sure this is an easy fix. Any suggestions?
We will be using big idea this year, and I have my training next week with school starting just a few day laters. I teach 3rd grade inclusion as the Special Education Teacher. I was hoping to get some input and feed back from all my fellow teachers who are already in the field and have confidence in their understanding of the program. I am teaching both virtual and in person I am not tech savvy and we will be using a combination of Seesaw and Meets, any words of advice for me on how to make this work or how to do the virtual component? Please anything will help me. I am also HUGE on data, how are all of you giving tests if it must be done virtually? I'm sorry I am such a hot mess, my daughter is also entering K in a different district that is fully virtual where I am not. I am having major mommy and teacher anxiety wanting to be the best for my baby and my students, so thank you in advance. You are all life savers.
Since so many of us are virtual this year, has BI made slides for the chapters yet?
How do you delete students from Big ideas Math? My 8th graders are no longer at this school, and they should be removed, what is the procedure. **I did not use Clever or Classlink**
I wish Dynamic Classroom was more user friendly and in one PowerPoint or slideshow. All of the arrows and tabs opening is annoying and not great in person nonetheless in distance learning. I also wish there were better tools to use while displaying the e-book. These are both huge negatives to the program.
Is the website down right now? I cannot access my teacher portal.
It was my understanding that the Big Ideas website was going to experience a visual "makeover" this past week? I'm headed to give a lecture on Big Ideas to some teachers next Monday and was really hoping to familiarize myself with the new format prior to that trip. Help!? :-)
