Over the years I have gathered information and joined different groups. I have a growing passion to bring awareness . The way eosinophillic esophagitis ( EE or EoE for short) effects each person is different. It's found in boys more than girls but there are several cases of girls with it.The body sees foods, typically ones high in protein, as poison and sends eosinophillis into the esophagus. So
me are allergic to one or two things others are allergic to virtually everything. Cross contamination and under labeling are our worst enemy. Somthing as simple as getting melted butter on your hand and then making your child a top 8 free sandwich before washing up can turn your perfectly safe sandwich into a deadly weapon. I have joined many groups and pages and have noticed that one thing ( that we too live with daily) is the same. Teachers,friends, family, food workers ,strangers,and even doctors do not take us seriously. I admire the support groups and the pages that parents have made specifically for their child. These are wonderful ways to look into your daily lives and see his an EE family struggles but also adapts. They spread awareness by sharing your lives. They are so personal and raw. Here however my goal will be to share videos , pictures, facts,articles, our families stories but also yours. I really just want to spread awareness and make this a sort of electronic scrap book or newspaper of information. A place where other EoE families can share together and nonEoE persons can see and learn.....and simply put become aware.
