A few years ago, I would never have imagined that a conversation about soil health would become one of the most important lenses through which I understand health, healing, and life itself.
What started as a passion for helping horses led me to ask bigger questions. Why were so many animals struggling with metabolic issues? Why were pastures becoming less resilient? Why were so many people experiencing chronic health challenges that seemed disconnected on the surface but somehow felt related underneath?
The deeper I looked, the more I realized that whether we're talking about soil, plants, animals, or people, the same principle often applies:
Conditions create outcomes.
That is why it was such a privilege to sit down with Keith Berns, co-founder and co-owner of Green Cover Seed and one of the leading voices in regenerative agriculture. Keith has spent decades helping people understand that healthy systems don't happen by accident—they are the result of creating the right conditions for life to thrive.
Our conversation explores soil health, resilience, pattern recognition, and the connections between the health of our land, our animals, and ourselves.
I'm incredibly grateful to Keith and the Green Cover team for including me on the podcast and for the work they continue to do to advance regenerative agriculture across the country.
If you've ever been curious about how soil health connects to animal health, human health, and the future of our food systems, I think you'll enjoy this conversation.
