After reportedly providing fentanyl to a confidential informant in October 2025, Colton Brunette was sentenced Monday to six months in county jail and two years of probation. Earlier, another young man involved in the operation was given 11 months.

At an Escanaba City Council meeting on Thursday night, a unanimous "No" was the final word from council about a request to rezone 113 S. 10th St. from commercial to multi-family to allow for a transitional housing facility.
