From the Sky Down

2018 has been a difficult year. Now with my life beginning to have some semblance of calm, I can focus on making this journey a reality. To discover whether my Mom can switch to renewable energy and not spend an extra dime to keep the lights on before I move away.

So here's a brief look at Production Trailer 2 while I get some of the remaining work completed for it. It'll be worth the wait. :-)

Hoping you all have had a great start to 2018! Currently resuming pre-production work on my first documentary film, From the Sky Down. Have a promotional video for a dear friend of mine coming down the pike within the next two weeks.

See you down the road!

Hello to all!

Wanted to say thank you to everyone who has viewed Production Trailer 1 and I can't wait to finish the second trailer for you before the end of autumn!

This year has seen some setbacks in terms of making this project work; from equipment failure to self-doubt, and more tragically, the death of my biological father on September 10th, David Nelson Elder.

My father and I were estranged for ten years, but his passing hit me a lot harder than I believed it would. (More info on the circumstances of my father's passing: http://www.wcax.com/content/news/Gas-station-worker-hit-and-killed-by-car-443620853.html) My father himself was a brilliant artist in his own right, various drawings, a multitude of illustrations, murals for a library in the town he lived in and Northeast Kingdom businesses, tattoo designs, and other pieces of art, including pottery. I still have a soap dish with my name on it that he gave me when I was younger.

While I may not have the gift of drawing/painting on a canvas, my artistic traits have shifted towards writing, photography, and videography. Traits passed down from my Mom and my late father. I don’t know if he was aware of this project, but if he was, I know he would want me to move forward. Just like his friends did in finishing a treehouse he was in the middle of building near his home in Wells River. I remember him talking of plans to build one before I became estranged from him. Despite our differences, I wish to honor his legacy by moving forward with my life. His sudden death, along with a death I faced over 15 years ago has taught me to make the most of my life. We all have one chance to do what we aspire to. Once this chance is gone, we can never gain it back.

I wish to thank those who have expressed their condolences on Facebook, and condolences from my friends. The last month and a half has been a difficult time. Having found the strength to move forward, I made two trips to Montpelier, the capital of my birth state of Vermont, to seek the truth about wind turbines. However, coming back from the two hearings I attended, I returned with more questions than answers. So, it seems I’ll need to find people who can help me discover what’s real about wind energy and the other sources of “green” power.

Think it’s time to find some people to interview!

I’ll be passing along some of my business cards locally around Upstate NY and Vermont, but if you or someone you know use solar panels, live near wind turbines, have geothermal heat or use heat pumps, biomass, or perhaps have expertise in hydroelectric/tidal/wave energy, or work in the renewable energy sector, don’t hesitate to contact me! Making this film will require me to schedule out my interviews over the course of 2018. Beginning in April of next year, I hope to resume my production throughout the North Country and the Green Mountain State; going on my journey across the country and around the world starting in July 2018!

Please leave a voicemail or text at 1 347-997-9477 or email me at [email protected]!

Thank you all for your interest in this in-progress documentary feature film, and I hope to see you down the road! Please stay tuned for Production Trailer 2 and other content to come!

Dad, I hope I can make you proud.

With gratitude,

- Bryan Elder
