“Learning how to care for my own mental health made me a better leader, teammate, and student. I know what it feels like to struggle in silence. I also know what it feels like to be supported and to come back stronger. That support saved me.”

Oregon quarterback Dante Moore has revealed he struggled with mental health issues associated with the pressures of major college football.

Schools in Oregon are already required to have an automated external defibrillator, commonly referred to as an AED.

Under a bill approved by Oregon lawmakers this month, schools would have to make sure their AED is in working order and easily accessible.

HB 4160 would also require coaches to be trained on how to use AEDs. Sen. Noah Robinson, R-Cave Junction, spoke in favor of the bill on the Senate floor, and said it's especially important to have a device nearby during sports events.

It’s been almost three years since a proposed solar park in Linn County met fierce pushback from local residents and farmers.

Now, after a long lull, there are signs the plan to install solar panels across more than a thousand acres of prime farmland could take shape.

There’s still no application, but recent meetings with energy regulators suggest the developers intend to move forward before their May 19 deadline.

Some neighbors had hoped the solar company would go away.

Neighbors hoped the sun was setting on the planned Muddy Creek solar park. Now it seems the company behind it is preparing for a new dawn.

Weather whiplash is in the forecast for much of Oregon, with warm temperatures expected to arrive just days after heavy rain brought flood alerts across a broad stretch of the state.

A heat dome that could be dangerous in some parts of the Western U.S. is heading our way, with forecasters saying some areas of California and Arizona could see temperatures climb near 105 degrees.

Oregon will dodge those triple-digit highs, however.

Forecasters say hot weather from a heat dome hitting California won’t reach the Willamette Valley or Oregon Coast.

With the Iran war entering a third week and the price of oil reaching nearly $105 a barrel on Monday, President Trump again urged NATO, China and other nations to help the U.S. secure the vital Strait of Hormuz.

On Saturday, Trump had called on China, France, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom and others to send warships to the key shipping route, which Iran has been blocking since the war and where about a fifth of the world's oil supplies typically pass through.

None of the countries have publicly committed to Trump's request — with some rejecting it outright — after the president upped the ante in an interview with the Financial Times late Sunday, saying their failure to do so would "be very bad for the future of NATO."
