Potawatomi District Scouting for Food

Potawatomi District Scouting for Food Scouting For Food is a yearly service project where Scouts pick up donated food items and deliver them to local food pantries.

Scouting For Food is just around the corner! Scouting For Food takes place each spring in our area. We collect non-perishable food items from people within our District and deliver them to designated food pantries. This page is to help Units within the Potawatomi District of the Northeast Illinois Council. We cover Evanston, Kenilworth, Wilmette, Winnetka, Glenview, Northfield, Northbrook, Glencoe

, Golf, and parts of Skokie. We try to get as much food as possible for our food pantries. You can help in many ways:
1) Sign up your Unit to be responsible for a specific area within Potawatomi District. You can do this at the March Roundtable or by contacting us.

2) "Adopt" a local grocery store: stand outside the store (with permission), hand the patrons a flyer and ask them to purchase and item from the list and hand it to you on the way out.

3) Put out donation bins at your local school, religious meeting place, sporting events, and other local organizations (with permission), and bring those donations to your designated food pantry. Let us know where you put your bins so we can advertise!

4) Get the word out through any newsletters, newspapers, etc. to have people donated.

5) Promote this page so more people know what we're up to! ANY way that you get food donations into our local pantries is a part of Scouting for Food! Please contact us with any questions or ideas. Thank you for serving our community!
