A Heavenly Tribute to Peggy McCay our beloved Caroline Brady. From The Salem Savior

Happy Heavenly Birthday to the remarkable Peggy McCay, a woman whose presence graced this world with strength, wisdom, and grace beyond compare. Today, as the heavens celebrate her birth, I find myself reflecting not only on the actress she was but on the legacy she left behind one built from passion, dignity, and a soul that refused to fade.

Peggy wasn’t just a performer she was a storyteller, a truth-bearer, a matriarch in every sense of the word. Through her portrayal of Caroline Brady, she taught us that love is both shield and sword that a mother’s heart is the strongest fortress there is. She carried herself with the elegance of a queen and the courage of a lioness, showing the world that strength doesn’t always roar, sometimes it speaks softly and stands unshaken.

There was something divine in the way she spoke that gentle authority, that unwavering compassion. She embodied the kind of woman who held her family together through storms and fire, who prayed even when hope felt distant, who believed that forgiveness was not weakness but power. Her eyes told stories words couldn’t hold stories of loss, endurance, and unbreakable love.

As I sit and think of her today, I imagine heaven’s gates open wide, light spilling out across the clouds as the angels welcome her home once more celebrating not just her birth, but her eternal place among them. Somewhere up there, I can picture her smile that kind, knowing smile watching over all who loved her, still guiding, still comforting, still loving from beyond.

Peggy’s legacy runs deep through the heart of Days of Our Lives. She helped define what family meant in Salem loyalty, sacrifice, faith. She showed us that even in the darkest hour, light can break through, and love can rise again. She gave us truth wrapped in tenderness, fire wrapped in gentleness. She gave us Caroline Brady a woman of conviction, of prayer, of unwavering heart and in doing so, she gave us a reflection of herself.

On this heavenly birthday, I stand in honor of her not just as a fan, but as a man who recognizes greatness when he sees it. Peggy McCay was more than a star she was a beacon. And though her light now shines from a higher place, its glow still reaches us, whispering softly that love never dies,it simply transforms.

So here’s to you, Peggy your name forever carved in the story of Salem, your memory forever sealed in our hearts. Heaven gained a legend, but earth will never forget the woman who gave us faith through her art.

Rest in eternal peace, beautiful soul. Your work, your wisdom, your warmth they live on.

With love, respect, reverence, and gratitude,
James Alan, “The Salem Savior”

“Forever Brady Caroline and Shawn”

In Salem’s quiet streets by the sea,
Two hearts beat strong Caroline and Shawn Brady.
Through storms of life, through joy and tears,
Their love grew deeper with passing years.

She was his calm when the waves would rise,
Her strength was written in her eyes.
He was her anchor, her faithful hand,
A sailor’s heart, a gentle man.

They built a home with faith as stone,
No one ever truly stood alone.
Their laughter filled the old Brady pub,
Their love a light the years can’t snub.

Caroline prayed when the nights grew long,
Her courage whispered through every song.
Shawn’s soft smile, his steady grace,
Still linger warmly in that place.

Now Heaven’s harbor calls them near,
Their souls together, crystal clear.
The ocean hums their lullaby,
As Salem gazes toward the sky.

No final goodbye, just love set free
Together for all eternity.
For in every heart that their story has touched.
Their love lives on, forever as such.

Happy Birthday to the Beautiful Hall Twins!

Today, we celebrate two incredible women who have touched so many hearts Deidre Hall and her twin sister, Andrea Hall.

Deidre, you’ve been a shining light in my life for as long as I can remember. Through your legendary portrayal of Dr. Marlena Evans, you’ve shown us grace, courage, and the power of love in every scene. You have a heart that shines brighter than the Salem skyline, and your kindness continues to inspire us all.

Andrea, your spirit and warmth are just as special the bond you and Deidre share is something truly beautiful. Twin souls who remind us what family, love, and loyalty really mean.

May this birthday bring you both joy, laughter, and every blessing your hearts can hold. You’ve given the world so much light today, may that light shine right back on you.

With love and admiration,
James Alan (The Salem Savior)

My heart is heavy tonight heavier than words can really carry. The news that our beloved Suzanne Rogers, the legendary soul behind Maggie Horton on Days of Our Lives, has been diagnosed with cancer has truly broken me.

This one hurts on a level that’s hard to even put into words. Suzanne isn’t just another name from Salem she is Salem. The warmth in her smile, the wisdom in her words, and the grace in her spirit have held this show, and all of us who love it, together for decades.

As The Salem Savior, I’ve watched Suzanne Rogers light up the screen and touch lives in ways few ever could. She’s been a guiding heart, a moral compass, and a living reminder that strength doesn’t always roar sometimes it just stands steady through the storm.

Right now, Maggie Horton will be off the canvas for a while, and that alone is hard to imagine. But Suzanne’s light will never fade from our hearts, or from the town she helped build in all our imaginations.

Please, join me in surrounding this remarkable woman with prayer, love, and strength. She’s carried us through so many of Salem’s darkest days now it’s our turn to carry her.

We love you, Suzanne. With everything in us.

Love Always James Kemmerer The Salem Savior !

From Roman to Marlena

“Marlena…
I’ve lived a life that’s seen more storms than calm,
But somehow, every road I’ve walked led back to your arms.

I wasn’t always easy to love I’ve made mistakes, I’ve been stubborn,
But you, Doc, you saw through all that.
You saw the man beneath the uniform, beneath the fight.
You made me believe I could be more than the battles I fought.

You’ve been my anchor when the world went dark,
My reason to keep standing when everything else fell apart.
There’s a peace in you a quiet strength
And every time I look at you, I know that love isn’t about perfection…
It’s about staying.

We’ve faced hell, lost people we loved,
And somehow, we always found our way back.
Because what we have it’s not just passion, it’s purpose.
You’re the calm after every storm I’ve survived.
You’re home, Marlena.

So when I say I love you, I don’t mean the kind of love that fades.
I mean the kind that fights, forgives, and stands tall
Even when the world tries to tear it down.

You’re my heart, my history, and my forever.
And if I had to live this life all over again
I’d still find you. Every time.”

He wasn’t perfect just a man who tried,
Who carried the weight, who stood with pride.
She saw beyond the scars and pain,
And loved the man beneath the name.

here’s to Roman and Marlena
Real love, that fights, forgives, and stays.

In the heart of Salem, a hero stands,
Bold and fearless, with gentle hands.
Through storms and shadows, he lights the way,
Turning the darkest night to brightest day.

Bo Brady, with eyes that see the soul,
A heart that mends, a love made whole.
Through every trial, through every fight,
You are our courage, our shining light.

From whispered vows to battles won,
Your story lives, never undone.
In every heart that beats for the brave,
Bo, your love is the gift we save.

Forever Salem’s heart, forever ours,
A legend written among the stars.

Today, we pause to honor Alice Horton, the heart and soul of Salem, as we get ready to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Days of Our Lives.

For six decades, Alice has reminded us of love, resilience, faith, and family. Through every twist and turn in Salem, her spirit has been our constant anchor a reminder that even in the hardest times, grace and devotion guide the way.

As we count down to November 8th, we celebrate not just the stories, but the legacy she leaves in our hearts. Every smile, every lesson, every moment in the Horton family story carries her light.

Thank you, Alice, for showing us the strength of family, the power of love, and the enduring beauty of hope.

Forever cherished. Forever remembered.

“Like Sands Through the Hourglass…”

To My Beloved Family of Days of Yesteryear

It’s been about a month since I last stood here in our cherished little corner of Salem’s past l and oh, how deeply I’ve missed you all.

Life, as we all know, has a way of writing its own script. This last chapter was one of faith, fear, and above all God’s unshakable grace. My husband Mark was diagnosed with cancer, and while those words once carried so much weight, today I can say with a heart full of praise God took care of him.

The cancer did not spread.
No chemo is needed.
It remains only in the prostate.
And on November 3rd, radiation begins with strength, courage, and a Savior who never fails.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles…” Isaiah 40:31

Now, as this season shifts, I return to you all back with a bang ready to celebrate the stories, faces, and families that have shaped us for decades. Because guess what, my friends? We are just 13 days away from the 60th Anniversary of Days of Our Lives!

And as we count down to that historic milestone, my heart swells with memories bittersweet and beautiful. I no longer have my grandmothers here to celebrate with me, those incredible women who started this family tradition so long ago.

It all began in 1965, in a doctor’s office on Main Street and Columbia. There sat my Grandmother Ada, my Nana Jenny, and their sister Dorothy, waiting to see their family doctor. They tuned in to a brand new soap called Days of Our Lives and from that moment, a family legacy was born.

It passed down through generations from them, to my mother and her sisters, my Aunt Melinda and Aunt Melissa, and then to me. Through heartbreaks, weddings, and wild storylines we were united by Salem.

In there heyday they adored the Hortons and the Bradys, we loved to hate Stefano DiMera and Victor Kiriakis, and oh how we rolled our eyes at Linda Anderson, Alex Marshall, Orpheus, Vivian Alamain, and her loyal sidekick Ivan, not to mention the ever-scheming Samantha Brady!

And through it all we held a sacred space in our hearts for Tom and Alice, our sweet “Gran,” whose love anchored every storm.

As I return, I’ve been archiving more treasures and I’ll soon share some of the incredible finds I’ve gathered over the last few weeks. To start, enjoy this newly upgraded photo of Tom and Alice brought back to life from an old Soap Opera Digest black-and-white that deserved its moment in the spotlight once more.

It’s so good to be home again here among kindred spirits, storytellers, and dreamers who know that family isn’t just who we’re born to… sometimes, it’s who we watch with.

Here’s to love, legacy, and the timeless town of Salem where the hourglass keeps turning, and the stories never truly end.

With love and light always,
Your Salem Savior

The Ties That Last Forever

In Salem’s heart where memories stay,
Two friends walked side by side each day.
Alice, with wisdom and gentle grace,
Caroline’s warmth, a steadfast embrace.

Through trials, storms, and whispered tears,
They held each other across the years.
Horton’s home a beacon of light,
Where love made every burden slight.

Caroline’s faith, so steady and true,
Carried her friends when skies turned blue.
And Alice, keeper of hope’s sweet flame,
Spoke kindness softly, calling each name.

Together they built a bond so strong,
Rooted in right, and healing the wrong.
Not blood alone, but chosen kin,
A family circle that let love in.

Friendship like theirs can never fade,
Its echoes live in the lives they made.
In every prayer, in each night star,
Alice, Horton, and Caroline are never far.

Love always !

it feels so good to be back on my page!!

💔 A Cry from the Salem Savior’s Heart 💔

My dear family,
I must begin by apologizing for being away these past three weeks. The truth is, my world has been shattered. My husband’s cancer has worsened, and we were told they cannot remove his prostate because of the damage left behind by recalled mesh and multiple hernia repairs.

At one point, he even died and by a miracle, they brought him back. Mark informed me one day a doctor walk in and called it a “big hot mess,” yet refuse to admit their mistakes and send him elsewhere, crushed me to my core when Mark told me what had happened to him.

He has lost over 170 pounds, and every day I watch him grow weaker, slipping further from me. We are still waiting on his disability to be reinstated since January. On top of it all, even our living situation was torn away from us. Some days, it feels like we’ve been stripped of everything except faith.

I try to stay strong, but the truth is, I am broken right now. Yet through it all, I cling to this Days family, because you give me something to hold on to. You make me smile when I have no reason to, and you remind me that I am not alone.

To those waiting on flash drives, please forgive the delay. Our postal system reroutes mail through Louisville, Kentucky, and some people didn’t even get Christmas cards until March! I promise they are on the way.

Today, I found myself in tears watching Norm De plume our beloved Tom Horton reading a poem he wrote for Graham. His voice, his presence… it felt like he was speaking straight to my heart.

Since losing my Nana and almost my entire blood family who raised me, Tom has always been that comforting figure I could turn to. And in that moment, I realized he and my beloved Grams Alice are up there together, watching, guiding, and praying for all of us.

So tonight, I humbly ask for your prayers not just for me, but especially for my husband. Please hold him in your hearts. Please lift him up in faith and light, because he needs it more than ever.
🙏 A Prayer to Heaven 🙏

Dear Lord,
Please place Your healing hands upon my husband. Carry him through this storm when he no longer has the strength to carry himself. Wrap him in Your love and surround him with angels.

Lord, please send Tom Horton and my Grams Alice our eternal guardians of Salem to stand beside him. Let their love and wisdom surround him with peace. Let their voices whisper comfort into his heart the way they always did for me. May they guide him, protect him, and remind him that even in pain, he is never alone.

Father, bless every person reading this. Remind them to hold tight to their loved ones, because tomorrow is not promised. Let them know how deeply their prayers lift me, how their love keeps me standing when I want to collapse.
Amen.

My dear friends, thank you for being my rock, my family, my strength when I have none left. I will return stronger—because of you, because of faith, and because love never dies.
Always with love and tears,

We are asking for your help during this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution brings us hope and helps cover the medical care and support my husband desperately needs. Your prayers, love, and generosity mean more than words can expressthank you from the bottom of our hearts. Our go fund me is listed at the bottom.

PS.

though I am buried in sorrow now, like the Phoenix our beloved Stefano—I will rise from these ashes. Stronger. Fiercer. And with even more love to give not just for one but for all!
