MADERA SPEEDWAY HOSTS BUSY SUMMER SPEEDFEST ON SATURDAY JULY 19
MADERA, CALIFORNIA (July 10, 2025) – Madera Speedway hosts one of its most action-packed events of the season on Saturday night July 19 with the Summer SpeedFest presented by Hoosier Racing Tire. Over 300 laps of main event racing will be offered up to the fans with the Mission Pro Late Models, 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series, Silver & Gold Mission Modified Series, NCMA Sprint Cars, INEX Legends, Pro Sportsman, Legends of Kearney Bowl, and more competing on the fastest one-third mile in the west.
Adult tickets are just $20, seniors and military are $15, youth ages 6-12 are $10 and kids five and under are free. All tickets will be sold at the track ticket booth. Opening Ceremonies are at 5:00pm Race fans can “Join” www.YouTube.com/ShortTrackTV for $19.99 per month for a members-only live stream as well. The races will also be televised at a later date on RACER Network.
Hoosier Tire will raise the stakes for the Pro Late Model competition with several special awards during the 80-lap feature. Each of the top-three finishers will receive a complete set of four Hoosier 970 tires. The Fast Time Qualifier and the Hard Charger will each be awarded $250 cash from Hoosier as well.
San Jose’s Jay Juleson continues as the top dog in the championship with a 35-point cushion over three-time 2025 winner Matt Erickson of La Grange. Juleson has three podium finishes but is yet to win so far after five rounds of competition. Veteran Rick Thompson of Fresno is solidly in third in the order, followed by Jason Aguirre of Atwater and Will Martyn of Coarsegold. Other regular contenders have included former Hobby Stock champion Manny Gonzales, Jr., Bass Lake’s Mike Hensley, 2024 Madera Late Model champion Trevor Schlundt, and Rev. Ron Spencer Red, White, and Blue Classic winner Kyle Keller. The SpeedFest 80-lap feature is split across a 50-lap opening segment followed by a 30-lap sprint to the finish.
Las Vegas’ Sam Jacks is a perfect two-for-two in the Silver & Gold Mission Modified Series with each victory paying $2,000. The Open Modified division races in non-stop 75-lap features with three each at Madera Speedway and the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Sammy Nuno of Windsor ran second in the first Madera round followed by Utah drivers Jeff Longman and Eric Rhead. Camino’s Brian Collins ran fifth.
The Silver & Gold Mission Modified Series features the Landmark Irrigation Hard Charger which serves as the George Stjerne Tribute Award. It features an $833 check to the driver that gains the most positions in the 75-lap main event. There is also a Friends of George Stjerne Hard Luck award, worth $333 to the driver that has the most misfortune.
Five rounds of 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model racing have yielded five different winners for the drivers ages 10-16 years old. Oregon City, Oregon’s James Hamlin leads the way by just ten markers over Clovis’ Skyler Schoppe. Opening night winner Eli Black of Santa Rosa is third. Washington’s Hunter Gates and Ramona’s Bristol Borneman are both waiting in the wings for a race win from fourth and fifth in the championship. Other winners this year are round three winner Cam Carraway from Castro Valley and most recently Kellen Keller, who scored during the Rev. Ron Spencer Red, White, and Blue Classic.
The fastest young drivers in the west race in a 70-lap feature which includes a break at lap 40 for adjustments and RACER Network TV interviews.
NCMA Sprints competed during the Rev. Ron Spencer Classic as well with a familiar winner as 2024 Harvest Classic winner Shauna Hogg of Fair Oaks scored victory. Hall of Fame driver and multi-time USAC champion Tony Hunt of Lincoln won the NCMA race on April 12. The non-wing pavement sprint car series returns for a 30-lap feature during the Summer SpeedFest.
Bakersfield’s Logan Chambers has jumped ahead in the INEX Legends competition after winning for the third time on June 21st. Bakersfield’s Colton Page is 11 points behind in second followed by Mariposa’s Lillie Cook, Bakersfield’s Eddie Garone, and Santa Clarita’s Konner Kartsen. Just 39-points span the top-five in the standings ahead of Saturday’s 30-lap race for local, state, and national points.
The Pro Sportsman battle has narrowed to just a ten-point margin between points leader Joseph Holiday and Steve Schermerhorn. Holiday has three wins while Schermerhorn has one win and a perfect five-for-five podium finishes. Brian Taylor, Kadence Toland, and Andrew Ries are the balance of the top-five. Pro Sportsman also compete in a 30-lap feature.
An exhibition race for the Legends of Kearney Bowl and a race for the INEX Bandoleros are also planned as part of the exciting Summer SpeedFest.
Saturday pit gates open at 12pm with the drivers meeting at 1pm. Practice begins at 1:30pm. Qualifying hits the track at 3:30pm followed by heat races. Opening ceremonies are at approx. 5pm with all main events to follow.
