Tried something new this month: Live video production and directing 🎥 🏒

Every year in Fairbanks, the local Army and Air Force bases field hockey teams of active-duty and retired service members to play in the annual Commander's Cup. The energy behind this game and the rivalry between the teams challenges something you see on a professional level. I was hired to produce in-game video content on the arena's video board and direct the livestream. We used wireless video equipment, live-streaming and audio switching equipment to share with families and fans near and far. A huge shout out to my camera crew who not only delivered my vision, but excelled. It was a new perspective as a live event video director, but one that I hope to experience again.

My first film festival screening is in the books!

This past weekend, “Beyond the Bucket List: From Passion to Ph.D. at solar Maximum,” a documentary I produced for University of Alaska Fairbanks, screened at the Anchorage International Film Festival.

This moment felt so special, as I shared this story with filmmakers from all over the world, many of whom had not seen the aurora before. After talking with audience members, I felt like I was seeing the aurora for the first time.

However, I wouldn’t have gotten there without my director Adam Rubin, who gave me the green light to produce this project. His passion for the Aurora, directorial leadership and trust made this project what it is today.

AIFF was truly a creatively encouraging space, and I hope to return to the festival in years to come.al

"Films worth freezing for"-- I am so excited to share that our film "Beyond the Bucket List: From Passion to Ph.D. at Solar Maximum" will screen at the Anchorage International Film Festival on Sunday, December 7th, during the Alaskan-made shorts block at the Alaska Museum.

If you're in town that weekend, come check "Beyond the Bucket List" and the many other amazing projects from all over the world. It's going to be amazing weekend in Anchorage!

This year for University of Alaska Fairbanks athletics media days, we had the fantastic opportunity to use the brand-new ArcticVū Studio on the UAF campus. This completely elevated the experience for the athletes, streamlined pre-production and generated powerful video.

As the sole videographer, I had a blast capturing content that will be used throughout each of the team's 2025-2026 season. A huge shoutout to Nanook Athletics for their help coordinating the several studio days and helping bring the vision to life!

I’ve always wanted to produce a documentary, but I had no idea that dream would come true so early in my career.

Last summer, when I moved to Alaska and started at University of Alaska Fairbanks, I was tasked with creating a video for Alaska Nanooks Hockey’s centennial year. This project quickly evolved into a feature-length film. Over the las 13 months I’ve grown to know and love the Nanooks Hockey team, and the community that surround them💛💙

I officially have hit my one year mark as the Digital Media Producer at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

From watching our athletics department clutch major victories, capturing the northern lights at -30 degrees fahrenheit, and producing now two documentaries, it's been 365 days of endless memories and learning opportunities. Thank you to and my team at University Relations for welcoming me with open arms. I can't wait to see what's in store for the next year 💙 💛

Did you know birds were hanging out with Arctic dinosaurs??

Researchers at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and UA Museum of the North have made groundbreaking discoveries in the Arctic surrounding ancient baby birds. These scientists spent a decade digging for tiny bones to confirm that birds DID exist 73 million years ago.

For University of Alaska Fairbanks' 103rd Commencement ceremony, I had the privilege of producing a video that helped the graduating class thank their professors, friends and loved ones. I asked students "who got you to commencement day" and they had inspirational and tear-jerking messages. The video was then played live at commencement and prompted groups to "turn on their light" after each attendee was given a light stick.

Seeing an arena, with standing room only, light up in support of the Class of 2025, truly gave me full body chills. Watch the full video below:

A few weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to capture NASA rocket launches in Fairbanks, Alaska. I'm thrilled that one of the photos I captured was featured today in a Travel + Leisure article on the groundbreaking auroral research coming out of University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Last night was truly a “pinch me” moment!

A team of researchers from the University of Alaska Fairbanks worked with NASA to launch two sounding rockets into the Aurora. After hours of an amazing Aurora show, this was an amazing end to the night.

Truly one of the most unreal experiences!!
