It's closing time, and Keady and Lilly are still available for adoption. I hate thinking of them spending another night at the shelter, but am thankful they still have each other. Fingers crossed that tomorrow will be their big day! 🤞🏼

When I was getting things ready to go yesterday, Sully walked right into the crate, plopped down, and was like, Let's blow this popsicle stand! Thinking about the babies and mama a lot today. Praying that surgeries went/go well and looking forward to seeing their adoption profiles go live and hopefully disappear quickly tomorrow.

I think Mama Elle is about ready for her spa(y) day! She has converted from her mama role to littermate as the kittens have gotten older. While she still is protective and will check on them if one cries out and call to them or growl in warning if she hears a strange sound or perceives a threat (really the only time she is ever vocal), she loves to romp around the room with them, chase them around, and wrestle with them, as well. She still mothers them by grooming them, and occasionally, I will catch a kitten trying to nurse (which looks absurd with how big they are! 😹). I'm pretty sure her milk is mostly dried up, and she doesn't tolerate it for long. She still has a couple of spots in the room where the babies can't get to her, but she surprisingly doesn't seem completely sick of them. She's such a good girl and ready to be pampered in a forever home!

I'd say Elliott is pretty comfortable! 😴

Sorry for the lack of kitten pictures the last couple of days. It's been a hectic week! Mama and are still with me. Since the foster care coordinator was out last week, she has a lot of kittens coming back this week and is trying to spread out intakes to prevent a kitten overflow at the shelter. My group will go back next week on either Monday or Wednesday for surgery and adoption. It's probably a good thing I didn't take them back this week, as I may have come home with a mama and EIGHT newborn kittens! That would have only been bad because I do cakes on the side and am making a wedding cake and 100 cupcakes for Saturday, which would never be accomplished if I had eight itty bitty babies distracting me! I do plan to take in another group of fosters next week after I say goodbye to these crazy kids!
