it has been a real wild and crazy week here at chez brinnanza I started a new job on Monday, was rushed from that job to the ER because I had a seizure, and also yknow I made this vest! I had summer in mind when I made it but it has decided it is actually for winter which makes sense bc it is wool and cashmere. it'll make a nice light and warm layer for our one week of mid Atlantic winter.

picked up a feather boa from the thrift store the other day, combined it with some fabric scraps, and made some new toys for my cats! a couple of them have plastic bag bits inside for that extra crinkle cats crave (don't forget to sign up for my intro crochet class at Dabblecrc.com/events !!)

more basket making, but can sized! I've been storing my paintbrushes in this very drab can, so I took some ruffle yarn (frogged a cardigan I never wear) and some cotton thread and made a new cozy! I hot glued the rim down just because the sizing is snug and I don't want it to sag. this was such a fun project and it only took a little bit of ruffle yarn (maybe 10 yards tops). I might come back later and add some monster features, but it's cute as is too!

happy pride! I have been obsessed with making couched baskets lately! you basically crochet around cord (or in my case chains of some trans pride macrame cord and some starabella both from ) with crochet cotton (that came from stash). the tricky part is keeping the cord at the right tension because it does not matter how many stitches your using, only where you put the cord. (would anyone be interested in taking a class for these???)

some things I've been working on lately! mostly moving house, but also: I got some neat trans flag colored macrame cord that became a water bottle. holder and is being combined with some cotton thread to become a basket! also feat: a bag that is not felted but aggressively wet blocked made in tunisian crochet with handspun yarn I spun myself and a plushie hammock to contain my absurd plushie hoard (most of which I also made... yes it's a cyclical process buy these things from me already lmao)

reptile girlies this one is for you! this is a prototype of a new design I'm working on for a wired snake you can wrap around you arm like a cool roman hedonist or britney spears. that didn't quite pan out (I need thicker, firmer wire and less stuffing), but it's a cute plushie anyway! It's based on a real snake, the northern scarlet snake, which is native to my local area! (psst don't forget to come to Prince William Pride on 5/17 in Manassas!)
