I'm so grateful LGS gives me the opportunity to do these classes- I love making music with these kids each week!

Our vibrant Music Exploration Club invites young learners on a joyful journey through the world of music. Led by Meghan Bokeno, a board-certified music therapist and the owner and founder of Sound Support Ohio, this program primarily caters to K-2 students but warmly welcomes all ages. With the invaluable support of LGS music teacher Molly Sexton, this afterschool activity has blossomed into an inclusive musical haven where every child's musical potential can flourish.

In Music Exploration Club, students:
• Sing a variety of songs, from classic children's tunes to multicultural melodies
• Dance and move to different rhythms, enhancing gross motor skills
• Play and experiment with diverse musical instruments
• Learn basic music concepts through fun, interactive activities
• Collaborate in group performances, fostering teamwork

Ms. Bokeno and Ms. Sexton create an inclusive, supportive environment where every child's musical journey is celebrated. Ms. Bokeno’s expertise as a music therapist ensures that activities are tailored to meet diverse learning needs and abilities. From shaking maracas to strumming ukuleles, from drumming circles to vocal warm-ups, our young musicians are constantly engaged in hands-on musical experiences. We're delighted to see our students' faces light up as they discover the joy of making music together and develop a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
