Meet NASA Astronauts Pete Conrad, Alan Bean, and Richard F. Gordon Jr, the second set of astronauts to visit the moon during Apollo 12 mission in 1969. This historic image was taken moment before the mission launch. The mission which lasted between 14 Nov. to 24 Nov. 1969 was the sixth apollo Crewed flight and the second Crewed Mission to land humans on the lunar surface. While Pete Conrad and Alan Bean headed towards the moon's surface, Richard F Gordon Jr. remained in lunar orbit to handle the orbiter.

After the astronauts left the orbiter on November 18, 1969, at 03:47:23 UTC, they landed on the moon on November 19, 1969, at 06:54:35 UTC. Unlike the Apollo 11 astronauts whose total time on the moon was 21 hours, 36 minutes, these apollo 12 astronauts took a bold step and spent 31 hours, 31 minutes on the moon. Lessons learnt from these missions are helping NASA to prepare for future Crewed Mission to the moon under its Artemis Space program.
