Monday Night Fourplay is BACK! Long Island's longest-running #LGBTQ-focused #bowling league is seeking bowlers to join our 2020-2021 season, which begins on Monday, Sept. 14 at Farmingdale Lanes. This year, bowling will be at 7:30 p.m. every OTHER Monday night. We welcome individual bowlers, full teams and everything in between to join us! Our league will be spread out across the entire 48-lane center. Masks will be required at all times (except when eating or drinking). Monday Night Fourplay is an International Gay Bowling Organization - IGBO member league that has for more than two decades been bringing together LGBTQ folks, friends, allies and bowling lovers together under one happy, fun roof. We're a handicap league and welcome participants of all skill levels. Dues are $25/league night. We run brackets (once handicaps are established) 50/50 raffles and our "Lucky Ball" jackpot shot along with lots of other goodies. Can’t bowl every session? Join a team’s roster so you can periodically fill in for an absent teammate. If you’re interested, please reach out directly to me and/or league secretary Larry Sanicola, at [email protected]. See you on the lanes!
Long Island New York The Cliffton is posting a bet on their Instagram of how many people will be shot in NYC and Chicago over Labor Day weekend. This is the kind of place that needs to be boycotted for racism and inciting violence. If you're in Patchogue, don't give these bigots your money. And don't @ me whining about cancel culture. Y'all love capitalism, and this is a natural byproduct of it. If I don't like your business, I get to take my business elsewhere and tell people why. That's the free market. So clutch your pearls somewhere else, haters. #BoycottTheCliffton Image may contain: text that says 'THECLIFFTON theclifftonbar The Cliffton Rules & Definitions: 2/2 Labor Day Weekend is defined as 12:01am on Sat Sept 5th Thru 11:59pm on Mon Sept 7th 2020 Official NYC Shooting figures will be obtained from the NY TIMES Official Chicago figures will be obtained from the CHICAGO TRIB 20pts for FOUR boxes One winner- 450pts 68 likes theclifftonbar Numbers are up early. GREATER LONG ISLAND RUNNING CLUB COVID-19 FOOD DRIVE MAKES A STOP IN FARMINGDALE Almost every Friday morning since mid-April, the Greater Long Island Running Club has been dropping off non-perishable foodstuffs, personal hygiene products and Gift Cards to supermarkets at Food Pantries throughout Long Island. The goods and cash donations are being collected from the very generous members of the Club. On Friday morning August 14th, the GLIRC COVID-19 Food Drive came to Farmingdale, as we dropped off about 500 pounds of nonperishible food and personal hygiene items (including lots of much needed diapers) and $600 in Gift Cards at the St. Kilian Parish Social Ministry Food Pantry in Farmingdale. Father Jose Tenas of St. Kilian was on hand to great the GLIRC team and help us unload the truckload of goodies. The need is still great, and will almost certainly will get even greater if Congress does not pass some form of the pending relief legislation. It’s very plain and very simple – there are many people here on Long Island that simply do not have the resources to feed their families. “GLIRC is continuing to do our small part to help,” observed GLIRC Executive Director Sue Fitzpatrick, “ and we will continue our efforts to help those less fortunate than us as long as the economic problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic persist on Long Island.” Nearly 5000 pounds of goods and over $6000 in Gift Cards have been distributed so far to those in need. Pictured here as they prepare to start unloading the truck at St. Kilian are (L to R) Father Jose Tenas of St. Kilian, GLIRC staffers Nick Palazzo & Rick Secor, GLIRC Executive Director Sue Fitzpatrick, and St. Kilian volunteer Bob Rooks
