🪖 Loud Booms Expected During Fort Bragg Training June 1 Through 12

💥 Residents across Fayetteville, Spring Lake, Hope Mills, Raeford, and surrounding communities may hear loud explosions and feel reverberations during upcoming live-fire military exercises on Fort Bragg from June 1 through June 12.

🎖️ The 3/14 Marine Regiment will conduct live field artillery firing as part of certifications, command post exercises, and line-fire training operations on the installation.

🚛 Significant amounts of ammunition will be fired from howitzers during the exercises. Field Artillery units from the 82nd Airborne Division will also continue training throughout the month of June, which may result in additional booming sounds heard outside the base.

🌙 Nighttime firing is expected as part of readiness operations, though officials say the quantity of rounds fired during overnight hours will be reduced.

⏰ Existing firing restrictions remain in place:
🔹 No massed artillery fires larger than battalion size between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
🔹 No artillery firing between 10 a.m. and noon on Sundays

🏘️ Residents new to the area may notice windows rattling, distant booms, or vibrations during the exercises. Officials say the activity is part of routine military readiness training on Fort Bragg.

🙏 Stay informed and be safe.

3/14 Marine Regiment Live Field Artillery Firing, June 1-12
The 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment will conduct live-fire training from June 1-12 on Fort Bragg for their certifications, command post exercise and line-fire training.
During this time, the Marines will fire significant amounts of ammunition from howitzers.
Field Artillery units from the 82nd Airborne Division will also be training throughout the month of June, resulting in loud explosions and reverberations that are often heard outside the installation.
While engaged in simulated combat conditions, all Field Artillery units will comply with existing requirements that prohibit them from massing fires larger than battalion size between the hours of 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily or from firing during the hours of 10 a.m. to noon on Sundays. There will be nighttime firing, as this is essential to maintain force readiness, but the quantity of rounds fired during hours of darkness is reduced.
