There is something about watching a movie everybody already knows with a room full of people who know it too.

πŸ˜† The lines start before the characters even say them.

Somebody laughs before the joke lands.

Somebody else reacts like they have never seen the scene before in their life.

And somehow, a movie you have watched a dozen times feels fresh again.

That was the fun of Reel Sips Friday night.

🎞 This month’s movie was Friday, and Reel Sips is building out a monthly lineup of Black-cast favorites and crowd-pleasers.

They have already done House Party, November is expected to bring B.A.P.S., and October is still being finalized.

Definitely keep this one on your radar.

The Dancing Without Sin Fitness Crew needs to see this. πŸ˜‚

Because ma’am was at the gala Thursday night eating BREAD.

A whole roll.

And before anybody thinks we caught her slipping β€” NOPE.

She planned the evidence.

She knew EXACTLY why we were recording because apparently y’all needed to see that Stephanie does, in fact, eat carbs.

Now what I would be concerned about is what happens AFTER Stephanie eats carbs.

Because if she enjoyed that roll Thursday...

Somebody's class is about to pay for it.

Stretch. Hydrate. Govern yourselves accordingly.

Some of the best adventures start with getting away from the usual routine.

A different view.
A meal outside.
A quiet morning.
A late-night conversation.

Today I had the opportunity to be there as Fayetteville Area Operation Inasmuch Village officially broke ground β€” and hearing the vision in person hit different.

I got to reconnect with Pastor Craig Morrison, hear the heart behind the project again and listen as Mr. Huff shared the why behind his commitment to helping make this village possible.

It was inspiring. It was motivating. And more than anything, it was a reminder that vision becomes real when people are willing to put resources, faith and action behind it.

Sixteen homes. One community. A permanent place for Veterans to know they are seen, supported and not forgotten.

I’m grateful I had the chance to tell the story before the ground was broken β€” and even more grateful to witness the next chapter begin.

Stephanie Kegler understood her assignment . . .

Yesterday’s Gospel Fit Fest was two hours of praise, worship, movement, sweat, laughter and PURPOSE.

Hosted by Stephanie of Dancing Without Sin Fitness at 226 The Warehouse , the afternoon was all about moving for something bigger than ourselves.

From high-energy gospel dance fitness and BEAT to those final worship-filled moments, every part of it pointed back to the mission behind the movement.

This year, 1 of Us is the recipient of Dancing Without Sin Fitness’ 10th Annual Health & Fitness Cancer Awareness Weekend, happening September 11–12. Their work helps women navigating cancer with practical support like rent, utilities, transportation, groceries and childcare.

🎭 Last night I had the honor of taking a seat at the Community Auntie Table during Fayetteville’s 40 Under 40 Masquerade Gala.

I’ll admit...

Being officially called an β€œAuntie” for the first time gave me a few feels. πŸ˜…

Like... wait.

Is THIS 47?

Especially because a few years ago, people wanted to nominate me for 40 Under 40 before they realized I was already 42.

I took that as a compliment then... and I’m taking this as an honor now.

Because once I got past the age part, I remembered what being an Auntie really carries.

Love.

Respect.

Wisdom.

Responsibility.

The chance to pour into the next generation while still learning, growing, and becoming too.

And that is something I can embrace with pride and gratitude.

Thank you, Ayana Washington , for a seat at the center of the room alongside my fellow Community Aunties Sara Ballard and Stephanie Kegler.
