๐ŸŽญ History. Culture. Storytelling.

One of the things I love most about the arts is their ability to teach, challenge, preserve, and connect us through stories that matter.

This documentary takes audiences behind the scenes of 400 Years: The Evolution of Black America, offering a look at the people, passion, and purpose behind the production.

If you missed the stage performance, this is an opportunity to experience the story in a different way.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ One screening only.

Who else loves getting a behind-the-scenes look at how something impactful comes together?

June has given me rest.

Not the kind that comes from doing nothing.

The kind that creates room for what matters.

๐Ÿฉท Less posting.
๐Ÿฉท More presence.

๐Ÿฉท Less rushing.
๐Ÿฉท More room for living.

More afternoons with my Kiddies.

More time enjoying what is instead of constantly focusing on what's next.

And maybe most importantly, more rest.

Not just physical rest.

๐Ÿฉท Mental rest.

๐Ÿฉท Emotional rest.

๐Ÿฉท Spiritual rest.

I think sometimes God knows exactly when we need that.

And I feel like He's given me that this month.

And for that โ€” and for the memories being made during it โ€” I'm grateful.

Sometimes there is value in the space between things.

And that's what June has been teaching me.

๐ŸŒป Last nightโ€™s THE GOLDEN HOUR: A DWS SILENT DANCE EXPERIENCE by Dancing Without Sin Fitness . . .

๐ŸŽง Guests could choose between different headphone stations with completely different music vibes.

๐ŸŽต One station was more upbeat line dance/music-you-gotta-move energy โ€” which everybody knows was absolutely Stephanieโ€™s lane!

๐ŸŽถ The other station leaned more smooth R&B vibesโ€ฆ and somehow Alicia Keys being the first thing I heard when I switched over felt perfectly on brand for me.

๐Ÿ˜† And the funniest part was watching the room from the outside.

๐Ÿคญ Youโ€™d see one whole section dancing together in sync to the blue station while scattered people on the red station were in their own little R&B world just vibing completely differently!

๐Ÿฅฐ Meanwhile other guests skipped the headphones altogether, grabbed vibe tickets, and simply enjoyed the atmosphere, conversations, food, music, and company around them.

๐Ÿ’› This was one of those events where you could genuinely feel people relaxing, connecting, laughing, dancing, and simply enjoying themselves.

๐Ÿฉท Motherhood does not always unfold the way we imagined it would.

Sometimes it changes.
Sometimes it stretches us.
Sometimes it asks us to find new rhythms while still holding on to love, hope, and healing at the same time.

Yesterday, I shared a more personal reflection on the mothers people do not always think aboutโ€ฆ including the mother I thought I would be.

This one is for the mothers navigating changing seasons with grace the best way they can.

๐Ÿฉท This morning was one of those reminders that community still matters.

OHOP Apparel hosted its 8th Annual Mom & Me Breakfast for nominated single moms and their littles, and the entire morning was filled with intention, kindness, and genuine care.

๐Ÿฅฐ Shout out to my sister-friend Stephanie Kegler for having me as her +1!

โœ”๏ธ Good food from Chick-fil-A
โœ”๏ธ Thoughtful gifts
โœ”๏ธ Amazing raffle prizes
โœ”๏ธ A room full of moms who could finally sit down, breathe, laugh, and just enjoy the moment

โ˜• And honestly? Even not winning a raffle didnโ€™t matter because seeing the excitement on the faces of the moms who did was part of the joy too ๐Ÿ˜…

๐Ÿ’ญ But what stood out most to me was this:

You can always tell when someoneโ€™s heart for community is real.

๐Ÿš And if youโ€™ve ever seen the OHop van around town, then you already know Ray pours into this city consistently. Today I got to meet his mom for the first time, and whewโ€ฆ it immediately made sense where that heart comes from.

๐Ÿ’Œ The kindness.
๐Ÿ’Œ The warmth.
๐Ÿ’Œ The way they love on people.

Itโ€™s the same.

๐Ÿ“ฑ And listenโ€ฆ Ray even dropped a social media gem this morning that had me over there saying โ€œamenโ€ in the background ๐Ÿ˜…

He said:
โ€œGet in front of the camera. Stop being scared to get in front of the camera. People want to see YOUR face.โ€

And whewโ€ฆ if yโ€™all know me, then you know thatโ€™s something I preach all the time too.

People connect with people.

Not just flyers.
Not just products.
Not just perfectly curated posts.

๐Ÿ‘€ Rayโ€ฆ at this point we might need to tag-team a workshop one day because you were absolutely telling the truth this morning.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ So next time you see OHOP Apparel doing something for the community, support it.

Because supporting the people who intentionally show up for others? Yeahโ€ฆ that matters too.

Whewโ€ฆ hey yโ€™all. Proof of life. ๐Ÿฉท Iโ€™m still here!Life has definitely been life-ing over here, but in the best kind of wa...

Whewโ€ฆ hey yโ€™all.

Proof of life.

๐Ÿฉท Iโ€™m still here!

Life has definitely been life-ing over here, but in the best kind of way.

๐Ÿ˜‰ And if Iโ€™m being real for a secondโ€ฆ

Iโ€™m always talking about staying present โ€” not just building, not just doing, but actually being in the moment.

And sometimes?

๐Ÿซฃ I get so locked in on showing up for my clients and my community that I have to remind myself to slow down and show up for me too.

๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ Yep, happens to me too.

I looked up and realized I hadnโ€™t posted since April 12 and was likeโ€ฆ oh. Okay. Let me come check in with Lovies.

The second half of April?

๐Ÿฅฐ Full. In all the ways.

๐Ÿฅผ ๐๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐‹๐š๐› ๐2 (Q3 - July 18) โ€” still sitting with what happened in that room

๐Ÿ’— In the room with The Den Community โ€” support, connection, and love every time

๐Ÿ“– Community Book Fair with Force Of Life Fayetteville โ€” showing up where it matters

๐ŸŽค ๐“๐‡๐š๐ฒ๐ฐ๐จ๐จ๐ ๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ speaking assignment โ€” always an honor to pour

๐Ÿ’ž Supporting Money Box Academy Inc. during the City of Fayetteville, NC Government Financial Literacy Month proclamation โ€” yeah, that was a moment

And somewhere in between all of thatโ€ฆ Iโ€™ve been quietly prepping for whatโ€™s next.

๐Ÿคญ And then I looked up again and realizedโ€ฆ oh. May is already in session!

๐Ÿ’ป On Purpose With Purpose โ€“ Virtual Series starts Friday, May 8

๐Ÿ’ป Brand Storytelling 101: Communication That Builds Connection on May 14 โ€” free to attend

๐Ÿ˜ Ahemโ€ฆ have you registered yet?

๐ŸŽ™ Two new episodes of Tสœแด‡ Tแด‡แด‡ Eา“า“แด‡แด„แด›แต€แดน
โ€ข This week with Bri Gonzalez of Rooms 2 Tailor
โ€ข Week of the 19th with Tonika Dunbar of Kountry Cream

This season is about showing up on purpose and doing the work โ€” for real.

So yeahโ€ฆ Iโ€™ve been here.

Moving, building, pouring, and making sure Iโ€™m showing up where Iโ€™m called to be.

๐Ÿฉท Now Iโ€™m back on your timeline like Hแด‡ส Lแดแด ษชแด‡s!
