To be absolutely CRYSTAL CLEAR:

This is aberrant behavior and has zero place in our community. It is not, however, a hate crime. It is free speech and we support free speech.

We ALSO support:

Our community members regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation.

This individual needs a ticket back to Germany 1939.

We have asked our elected officials - the town and Village of Fishkill, as well as local police, to stand in solidarity with our community by issuing an immediate and decisive statement condemning this behavior.

To anyone who refuses to speak out against this : SHAME ON YOU.

This past weekend our community gathered for the annual Fishkill Block Party—an event meant to celebrate our small town and bring neighbors together. Unfortunately the celebration was marred by a deeply disturbing act of bigotry and intimidation.

The attached video shows an individual performing a N**i salute behind two young girls filming a dance video. Our elected officials have a responsibility to protect the safety of our public spaces and set the moral standard for our town. There must be zero tolerance for antisemitism, bigotry, homophobia, hate speech, or harassment in Fishkill.

We call upon them to issue a swift, public, and unequivocal statement condemning this behavior. Our community needs to hear from its leadership that hate has no home in Fishkill. Silence or inaction risks signaling that this behavior can be tolerated in our streets. We also urge you to coordinate with local law enforcement to ensure this incident is thoroughly investigated as a potential bias-related harassment offense.

Monday May 25th:

10AM Town of Fishkill Memorial Day ceremony held at the War Memorial between the recreation center and police department.

11AM Fishkill Rural Cemetery at 801 Rt 9 Fishkill. The ceremony will take place at the Dubois Chapel near the front of the grounds and the Guest Speaker will be Captain Travis Salley, Professor of Military History at West Point.

1PM Village of Fishkill Annual Memorial Day Parade. Line-up is at 12:15PM and Memorial Service immediately following the parade at the Veteran's Monument.
