Thanks to all who came, served or donated for the 9/11 Day of service!
We are filled with gratitude as we report on the incredible outpouring of service during this year’s Flagstaff National 9/11 Day of Service. Together, 280 volunteers contributed nearly 1,000 hours of service—a remarkable tribute to the spirit of unity and compassion that this day represents.
Here is a summary of the 2025 of Service:
The Foster Alliance – 126 hygiene kits (plus extras), 40 birthday bags, and 25 birthday cards were created, using 5 boxes of fabric bags from the hospital.
Back-to-School Donations – 58 backpacks (plus surplus supplies) filled with crayons, colored pencils, pencils, scissors, glue sticks, erasers, notebooks, and pencil bags were given to students on the Hopi and Navajo reservations.
Community Projects – 12 joined the NACA Prayer Hike, 15 served at Sharon’s Manor, 30 cleaned inside and out at Sunshine Rescue Mission, 14 assisted at Sharon's Attic Thrift Store and Thrift for Goodness Sake, and 12 helped at the Flagstaff Family Food Center warehouse. In addition to the hundreds of Sandwiches and meal items prepared at the Food kitchen.
Environmental Stewardship – 90 volunteers cleaned at the Flagstaff Sustainability Office City Watershed Project, filling a truck in just one hour.
Family History & More – 22 participated in family history projects, 17 cleaned at Sinagua Middle School, and 40 missionary cards/letters were written.
Global Service – Operation Christmas Child received 1,000 pieces of fabric and 5 large boxes of handmade scarves for underprivileged children worldwide.
