Throughout my time on X and real-life, I have seen many Catholics, including the trads, have very individualistic mindsets.
St. Pius X's Pascendi Dominici Gregis warned about reason over faith, religious sentimentalism, excessive individualism i.e. subjevtivism, etc. The issue with some Trads that they act like the guardians of tradition, but their hypocrisy are reflected in their words and deeds.
I like and respect Traditional Catholicism in substance. However, what I fear is that some Trads, especially Rad and Mad Trads, infiltrate with such sentimentalism, using reason over faith, subjectivism, etc. are infiltrating the meaning and value of Traditional Catholicism.
In the 4th session of the Council of Trent and Vatican 2's Dei Verbum, Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition are co-equal. That comes from St. Augustine of Hippo's "On Christian Doctrine." The Magisterium is the teaching authority of the Church and interprets them.
A lack of self-awareness is dangerous to one's spiritual life. Sacred Tradition is not cosplay but a deepening, enhancing, enriching our understanding of the faith.
Sacred Tradition is to be respected and preserved, not adulterated with private interpretations, rigorist tendencies, and subjectivism.
Sacred Tradition is not a relic of the past but a living reality that is with us and the history of the Church and serves a great purpose in many ways i.e. evangelization and the defense of our faith.
While St. Pius X is a great Pope, saint, and hero for many Traditionalists, Pascendi Dominici Gregis is not something to accuse only liberals and leftists. It is for all Catholics to know, learn, understand, grow, and mature as Catholics.
Modernism is like a serpent or a snake: subtle, slippery, and dangerous to all. It is not always apparent at first sight, but it can fester and grow like cancer, if left unchecked.
