At a time of the “culture of death” that is so pervasive today, we need to fight back with the “culture of life.” Promote, educate, lead. Pope Ven. Pius XII covered various topics on bioethics, and I covered his general views on birth control. In the future, there will be more specifics.

St. Augustine of Hippo affirmed the Sacrament of Holy Communion- the Eucharist- as a Sacrament of Unity. He wrote in Tractate (Lecture) 26 of the Gospel of John, section 13 on John 6:41-59. He wrote, "O sacrament of devotion! O sign of unity! O bond of charity!"

The first successful human embryos cloning was in 2001 by the biotechnology company, Advanced Cell Technology (ACT), but they lasted for a few hours.

However, the Catholic Church was against human cloning before 2001. The CDF 1987 document- Donum Vitae- opposed human cloning.

The problem with human cloning is that it violates the unitive and procreative acts that must be done in marriage.

The Catholic Church is clear on this with Donum Vitae (1987), Reflections on Cloning (1997) with the Pontifical Academy for Life, and Dignitas Personae (2008).

Today is the Feast Day of St. Padre Pio! His temper is relatable to me. He wanted the sinners to truly repent, but he also regretted losing his temper. Love the sinner but hate the sins. He was obedient to the Church despite the silence and post-V2. He defended Humanae Vitae before his death despite the criticisms going on at the time.

This is the final chapter of the book: “How to Converse With God.” The Catholic Church has so much to offer through God. We are to unite with God. His infinite goodness and grace is so profound, most indescribable, and most incomprehensible. We must grow in holiness through God.
