This day had been hard for the last 8 years. I used to think it would never get easier or I’d have to go numb, but my mother knew the woman she raised her daughter to be.

So, leaning into my purpose work, going back to get all the things I’d left behind, and remembering my mama every step of the way makes every day a little bit sweeter, every rainfall a little more cleansing, every sunrise just a little brighter. I couldn’t be me without you.

to all the mothers and the mothering. We could not be who we are without you. And special love to the children who have lost their mothers and the mothers who have lost their children 🌹
