Proverbs 28:1
“The wicked flee when no man pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
The wicked run because they know judgment is coming. Guilt is only the preview. They feel the heat before the fire ever hits.
The righteous do not run. Jesus already stood before the Judge in our place. He took the sentence. He paid the price. He absorbed the wrath. When that final gavel falls, the Judge will see Christ’s perfect record covering us, not our sin.
The verdict is already in: Not guilty. Righteous. Mine.
That is why we live bold today.
Men: Protect your women and children, and stand tall. Your debt is paid.
Women: Honor your husbands, and stand fierce. Your name is clean.
No flinching at shadows.
No ducking accusations.
No shrinking when the enemy bluffs.
The trial is over.
The victory is settled.
The King has ruled in your favor.
Walk like it.
Bold as a lion.
Fierce as a lioness.
Unshakable until He returns.

Picture somebody clinging to a works-based treadmill, panicking every time they stumble, thinking Christ lets go that easily. That’s not faith, that’s exhaustion.

Here’s the reality.

Christ knows His sheep. He didn’t purchase them with His blood only to misplace them in their weak moments. He gives eternal life, not temporary life pending performance review. Those He calls, He keeps. Those He saves, He sanctifies. The struggle you feel isn’t evidence of abandonment, it’s proof the Spirit is at work. Dead hearts don’t mourn sin.

That pressure you put on yourself? That’s the refining fire of sanctification, not the uncertainty of justification. Stop trying to rebuild what Christ already finished. You don’t re-earn what He already secured. You’re not holding onto Him. He’s holding onto you.

Eternal life is eternal because it’s grounded in Christ’s righteousness, not yours. If you could lose it, you would. If He could lose you, He wouldn’t be who He claimed to be.

So yes, repent. Yes, pursue holiness. But do it from security, not desperation. Conviction is evidence of sonship. Fear of losing salvation is often the loudest indicator you already possess it.

Get off the performance treadmill and rest in the One who said, “It is finished.”
