Hii all! I’ve been in the wonderful postpartum cocoon, and somehow, I’m finding energy to put into Birth Bug, refining my offerings for this next season! I’m working on new stuff in the background while also planning to continue offering my support to families.

After my 2nd homebirth, 1st freebirth, I’m feeling more called to find those who ..want to birth at home but don’t know where to start.. or might not have support around.. or are opting out of the system.. or have a partner who is on the fence (or not on board at all).. or those who are maybe looking for pure redemption.
This season, I’m seeking out opportunities in the home, mother-led, and intuitive. Considering I’m in this gentle season of new motherhood, word of mouth and getting out to events or gatherings has been rather challenging lately, so I’m reaching out, hoping my online community can help me find what I’m looking for🙏

I’m always accepting hospital births and clients with insurance- OF COURSE! But if you’re on a homebirth journey or finding that medium at a birth center, I want to support you!🤎

While my little W***y girl is strapped to me in this season, I am returning back to my practice starting late August, with spots already booked for September and October. I’m opening up November and beyond for both birth doula support and birth photography (**note: I include free birth photography if you book me as your doula🥰**).

If this sounds like your path and you want to learn a bit more, you can ask all the questions in my DMs or visit my thorough website (has info and pricing) at birthbug.com

Tag or send this to your homebirthing mama friends or someone you’ve talked about homebirth with!

All my love🤎🤗

It’s taken me quite some time to write out the birth story, mostly because my memory is scattered and my energy is slow these postpartum days, but I want to share these raw moments and feelings in hopes that it resonates with someone or sparks a flame in someone’s mind and, of course, so I can remember it forever. Birth is raw.. it’s scary, it’s dirty, it’s beautiful, it’s unpredictable, it’s spiritual, it’s fast but slow, it’s imperfect but perfect.. it’s sacred- it’s everything and more. I’m happy I can share these vulnerable moments with those who spend time to read.. (let’s be honest, it’s a novel, not a story).

Beautiful cover photo by Cindy and the following photos captured by the lovely Natasha . (With the exception of the photo where Kylie’s braiding my hair, thanks mom).

National Homebirth Day💛

This photo takes me right back to that day of birthing my first daughter in the middle of our upstairs apartment living room, in the birth tub, with my family, my sweet midwives, and all the energy that felt safe and known. No rushing out the door, no car ride. No bright lights or strangers. Just me in my rhythm and in my space.

The comfort of my own bed right after. Taking our time to burn the cord and separate baby girl from the placenta in ceremony. My dogs and cats laying close, meeting the baby at the same time as us. My partner holding me. Everything at my pace and on my terms. That’s the kind of peace I didn’t know I could have—but it’s what I got for my first birth.

And now here I am again, still baking this second baby, preparing to meet them in that sacred way- undisturbed, at home, surrounded by friends and family.

Happy National Homebirth Day to every family choosing this path, and to the babies who first touch the Earth in the places they were dreamed of (and made?)😋

With birthwork set down and my energy turned inward, I’ve felt my spirit stretch wider than ever. This closing chapter of my pregnancy, I’ve been moving slower. Feeling deeper. Listening closer. Letting the earth speak—and she has, in whispers and waves🦋🌊

I’m realizing that peace isn’t passive. It’s sacred and intentional. It’s earned through choosing presence over pressure, intuition over urgency. And that’s exactly how it feels I’m preparing to bring this new spirit baby into the world. ⛰️🐌🌞

I’ve been grounded and surrounded by people who see me, lift me, and reflect my strength back to me when I forget it. On Saturday, I sat in ritual with my doula sister, setting intentions for this next chapter of motherhood. We prayed, called in the wise women who’ve birthed before us, and offered our love back to the earth. Thank you for holding space for me, you are a true blessing🥹

This is the kind of motherhood I’m choosing: grounded, rooted in nature, led by intuition, peace, and presence. May this be a reminder that your journey doesn’t have to follow a script or look a certain way, it just has to be yours🫶🏼

SAVE THIS POST FOR LATER☝🏼

Blood pressure plays an important role for our bodies and babies during pregnancy. It supports proper circulation and blood flow to the placenta, uterus, baby, and other organs. During pregnancy, our bodies go through many changes, an increase in blood volume, hormonal shifts, and naturally fluctuating blood pressure. Consistent levels of high blood pressure can be a sign that the body is communicating to pay attention. It’s important to note that there are sometimes risk factors that are beyond our control, but there are many holistic ways to support a healthy blood pressure- even at the very end of pregnancy or in your birth window!

It’s important to prioritize a balanced environment for your blood to flow and nourish your body in the way it needs. Our bodies have wisdom that can be received if we listen! The effectiveness of these methods vary and can depend on the severity of hypertension and an individual’s overall health and sensitivities. In mild to moderate cases, many have testified a noticeable difference fairly quickly. In severe cases, these methods should be considered WITH medical management- never as a replacement.

If there is fear of induction due to high blood pressure, these are great natural methods to consider that you can be in control of (while also receiving medical management simultaneously if that is what feels right to you).

If you’ve experienced hypertension, what has worked for you?

Each birth I get the privilege to witness adds a little extra layer to my heart. Something I never expected before becoming a doula was the depth of connection I would feel with each family. The rawness, vulnerability, and transformation of this sacred work is truly special and I feel I learn something new with each birth. And it’s more than just being a ‘cheerleader’, it’s holding space for a spectrum of emotions, for the fears, the triumphs, the joy, the doubt, the intensity, the surrender..

For me, birth is rooted in connection- just like parenthood, just like babies. My personal doula/birth keeper journey is deeply woven into this belief. I don’t believe we have to settle on the minimum of birthing a healthy baby— I believe you can experience more than just that. My journey as a doula was born from the transformative experience with my own daughter— it stirred this dying urge to bring that sense of connection and energy to my community because every journey deserves to be honored in some way♥️

To all the families I’ve supported and will support in the future, I graciously walk alongside of you with love and respect for your journey so far and your journey to come😊

Happy Doula Day to all the doulas supporting and connecting with families as they create new life and bring their sweet beautiful babies into existence! 🫶🏼

Just as the seasons shift, so do we! Growing, shedding, and blooming in divine rhythm. This equinox, we are letting the light in to shine on our strength, our softness, and the wisdom carried in our bones🙏

Time to go outside, soak in the sun, frolic with the birds and bugs, hear the birds sing, and watch the flowers bloom! 🌿🌼🐞
