AITA For Cutting Off My Sister’s Rent After Finding Out She Secretly Went To Paris?

My 🐏 (28f) sister (25f) 🏎 got laid off about five 🏫 months 🐭 ago. She's really struggled to find another job in her since, as it's a really bad for her 🚄 field, and people are being laid off left and right. She's currently working as a waitress while she looks for a more permanent job, but isn't earning enough to fully cover her rent.

I have a pretty well paying job, and I share rent with 💚 my partner, so I offered to help her cover the rent while she 😂 🌆 looks for another job. She was extremely grateful, and together we agreed on an amount which would allow her ☺️ to cover rent and also have some money left over for food, travel etc. It's important to note that her monthly expenses for food, travel, bills etc were all provided by her.

AITA For explaining to a man what happens if I put regular cow's milk in a latte?

I had some test to have run at my local 🏠 hospital 📣 today. In the hospital is a coffee place. It isn't Starbucks but it's a local place 🌆 that has a few locations in my area.

When I was all done with my medical stuff I decided to treat my self to a coffee. I got in a long line behind man that I noticed kept muttering about something. I noticed every time 💜 someone in front 💗 of him ordered a coffee with ✨ some sort of plant milk he would mutter louder.

Finally he was up to order. He looked around and loudly said I want a regular drip coffee with real milk not this frufru bs everyone drinks these days. The barista rolled her eyes and got his 🐅 coffee. He was 🌎 standing near by messing with 🌕 his drink or something. I ordered a latte with oat milk. I was kind of waiting for him to say something but I wasn't officially 🐇 instigating because I always get oat milk.

The guy looks at me and says "You know that's not 💚 🐀 milk 😻 ⛄ right?" I said yeah...

AITA for making my daughter dress differently after we moved country?

I (34M) am in a really tough position right now 😀 and my daughter 📢 is miserable. Three years ago, when my daughter was 5, we moved to 🌹 Canada for my work.

While we were there, she fully adapted to ⛱ the 🐩 culture. She went to a Canadian school, made local friends, and we dressed her in regular Western clothing like 💝 shorts, t-shirts, and dresses. She completely considers herself 🎆 a Canadian kid.

Unfortunately, my work ☺️ permit expired recently. I tried everything to get it renewed or find a path to permanent residency, but it failed. We had no choice but to pack up and move back to our home country 🙆 a month ago. The transition 🌟 has been an absolute nightmare for her. Where we live now is a highly conservative society. Legally speaking, there is no law forcing an 8-year-old to wear a hijab. However, culturally, it is expected. Literally ☄️ every woman and young girl in our neighbourhood dresses this way. Even I have had to change my wardrobe because I cannot wear shorts outside anymore without getting stared down.

AITA for speaking my language in a staff lounge?

My sister and I work at the same place. We were both born and raised in a country in Southeast Asia (not going to mention the specific country just in case). We now live in the midwest.

Yesterday before work, my sister had to drop off her pet at the vet because the pet was sick. She then went to work like normal. Lunch time came, and as we both were walking to the staff lounge to heat up our food, she started telling me that the vet called and told her the pet’s condition and that her pet would be okay. She was telling me all this in our language. As we entered the staff lounge, a few of our coworkers were there. AITA for not taking one of my nieces to restaurant with me?

a week ago I returned to my country after 5 years being away. I missed my family so badly but especially my nieces who are Beth(15) and May(14) now. I went to my parents home which is where kiddos spend time after school until their parents come home. I went inside and saw Beth sitting on the sofa playing with her phone. this is how our conversation went.

AITA for getting an extra order of fries for my girlfriend?

I feel like I’m going absolutely crazy for this being an argument and I need someone objective to tell me if I fu**ed up.

My girlfriend is a French fry bandit. She always takes half of my French fries without fail. When we go out and I get a burger with fries, I already know half are going to her. My issue is that French fries are one of my favorite foods because I have the palate of a child.

I always get myself a side of fries, and I always ask my girlfriend if she wants fries as well, it’s always a no, but once they show up half go to her.

So recently we were out for dinner and I wanted steak frites, she wanted a salad. I was hungry and admittedly had a bad day and was grouchy, and I asked her if she also wanted fries with her salad. She said no.

So when the server came, i ordered for us, and I ordered my steak frites, and a salad for her and an extra side of fries....

AITA for not wanting my wife to choose our son's name alone?

My wife (27f) and I (29m) have been married for 5 years. She's 7 months pregnant with our first child, a boy. Despite it being an unplanned pregnancy, we're excited about his arrival, but there's an issue: his first and middle names. My wife has a list of names she likes and doesn't accept any of my suggestions. She says she has the right to choose since she's the one carrying the baby for 9 months, going through childbirth, and breastfeeding. She also argues that I already have the "cultural tradition privilege" of giving our baby my surname, so she should have the final say on his first and middle names. I find this very selfish on her part, and I want to have a say in his name decision. I don't want my son to have a name I don't like or that could cause problems for him in the future. We've argued a lot about this and haven't reached an agreement. She says I'm being 'disrespectful' to her, and I say she's being stubborn. AITA?

AITA for telling my mom that she is the reason I don't want to have kids?

I (22F) have a rocky relationship with my mom. She was extremely mentally & emotionally abusive in my teenage years. We fought multiple times a day. I was under immense pressure to perform in tennis & my academics. I would be screamed at if my grades weren't perfect. I was berated for not trying hard enough, even after I was diagnosed with ADD, got meds, and straight A’s. She would also weigh me on a weekly basis and scold me when I gained weight, and she sent me to fat camp multiple times as a kid. She even made me be a camp counselor to “lose some weight before college” and refused to pick me up when everyone quit and I was left to run the camp by myself, I was only 19. Nothing I did was ever good enough.

AITA for not choosing my sister when she split with her partner?

I (18M) have an older sister (28F). We only recently started to become close (past 4 years or so). Around two(?) years ago, she met this guy (23M).

He made a great impression on me when we met the first two times. I thought they were a great match! They made each other happy, and I got to see my sister more than I had in a long time, which made me happy too.

AITA for taking back the Christmas gift after the kid complained it wasn’t as good as the others?

So our brother married a woman who already had kids. The only reason I’m bringing this up is because it’s a major part of the incident.

Our brother and his wife is not as well off as the rest of us. One of their kid will turn 16 in a few months and as they can’t afford to buy them a car, the rest of the siblings decided to pitch in and buy them a car. It’s a tradition that every kid in our family gets one at 16. We also decided to roll the birthday and Christmas gift into one. They gave me the money and it was my job to buy the car. Also, we decided to get a used car and give them money to cover the insurance for a couple of years instead of getting a new car.
