Did you know that tomorrow, January 17th, is called "Ditch New Year’s Resolution" Day?
Just in case you're wondering WHY that happens, let me explain.
NOT COMMITTED ENOUGH...Just interested:
This happens because a lot of people decide to make a resolution without honestly thinking about a year from now. Instead, decide what you want to see happen and who you want to be in one year... then work backward on what needs to change to make that happen. Can you relate?
NOT ENOUGH TIME:
So often people plan the resolution, but then realize that things might be moving slower then they expected or they did not give themselves a realistic goal. Like expecting to lose 50 pounds in 2 months.
EXPERIENCED A SET BACK:
YEP, life happens. Instead of just making the resolution... plan ahead for what you need to do, what you need to eliminate, and what you need to change so that when the bump in road happens (because lets face it - it will!) you are ready for it. Like a boy scout, always be prepared.
NOT ENOUGH SUPPORT:
When making the resolution or goal, making sure you know what you need from others is important. People are not mind readers (especially your spouse or kids) so tell them the support and help you need. Let them know what to do if they see you go off course in a way you will respond correctly, without chopping their head off. :)
