FINDING LIFE, A Documentary
According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, on September 30, 2012, there were an estimated 399,546 children in foster care in the United States. These are children that need loving homes. Finding Life is a documentary that follows multiple gay couples as they proceed to the next big chapter in their lives of fostering and caring for
children in addition to meeting gay couples that have gone through the foster care program successfully and those that are in the midst of just starting out. Cameras will follow these new 'modern American families' as they go through transitioning their lives. From the deduction in freedom, to the foster care classes required, to a living human being in their responsibility for the first time ever. This includes all of the policies and procedures that future/current parents have to go through both in and out of the foster care required classroom. While the gay rights movement has advanced so much in the last few years, the most interesting aspect will be to take a look deep inside these couples’ journey as they cross the bridge to becoming responsible foster parents; however, there are actually some places where gay couples cannot foster children. Finding Life will investigate these places to find out where and why. The main goal is to educate everyone that it doesn’t matter whether you are gay, straight, black, or white. There are children out there in the United States that just need love and it’s not as difficult as one would think to truly open your heart and your home to give back while gaining so much. Finding Life is about more than gay couples finding a life to care for, it’s about how multiple lives will change forever. While searching for a life, many new lives will be found. Produced and directed by an Award Winning Documentarian with over 15 years' experience in the film industry, Finding Life is sure to be full of fun, surprises, challenges, but most important, education and entertainment.
