Florida is steps to closer to making a historic shift in its tax system. Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced that he is preparing a proposal to drastically reduce or eliminate property taxes with a plan to put it before voters in 2026. This move would require a constitutional amendment supported by 60% of voters and DeSantis has indicated both the Florida House and Senate are already on board. This could be game changing for Florida homeownership if this goes through!

Miami has officially surpassed New York as the top destination in the world for ultra-wealthy second home buyers, according to a study done by Altrata. While NYC still has more ultra-high-net-worth residents overall, Miami now leads when it comes to where the rich choose to invest in second or third homes with over 13,000 compared to just over 12,800 in New York.
