People ask me all the time, “What’s the difference between a social media manager and a social media strategist?”

And while there can definitely be some overlap, there’s a pretty big difference.

A social media manager typically handles the day-to-day—creating content, scheduling posts, responding to comments, keeping your accounts active, and making sure everything stays consistent.

A social media strategist looks at the bigger picture.

I’m not just asking, “What are we posting this week?” I’m asking:

What are we trying to accomplish?
Who are we trying to reach?
What is the data telling us?
What content is actually working?
Where are the opportunities?
And how does social media fit into the bigger goals of the business?

That strategy influences everything from content topics and platforms to engagement, timing, messaging, and what we do next.

Because I don’t believe in posting just to post. 🌊

A manager keeps your social media running. A strategist makes sure there’s a reason behind where it’s going.

And for my clients, that strategy is behind everything I do. 💻

If Facebook has felt a little… different lately, you’re not imagining it. 👀

Recent algorithm changes are shifting what gets seen, how content is distributed, and what actually earns reach and engagement.

Some businesses are seeing dips. Others are seeing unexpected spikes. And content that worked a few months ago may not be hitting the same way now.

This is exactly why social media strategy can’t be “set it and forget it.” The platforms change, people’s behavior changes, and your strategy has to change with them. 🌊

Have you noticed a difference in your Facebook reach or engagement lately?

Most small business owners spend 6–10 hours every week managing their social media. That’s nearly a full workday spent planning, creating, posting, engaging, and analyzing content. 👀

Now imagine getting that time back.

What could you accomplish with an extra day each week? More time with clients? More sales? More family time? More room to actually grow your business?

That’s the value of having a social media manager. You get your time back while your online presence keeps working for you.

Getting noticed online isn’t as easy as it used to be.

You’re competing with endless scrolling, changing algorithms, AI-generated content, ads, and thousands of other businesses trying to grab the same attention.

The good news? You don’t have to go viral to stand out.

A clear strategy, consistent content, and showing up with purpose will always outperform posting just to post. Keep showing up—your people are paying attention, even when it doesn’t feel like it. 🌊

Okay… this is definitely going to date me. 😂

I was part of the generation that spent hours perfecting a MySpace profile. If you didn’t know at least a little HTML to move things around, change your background, or make glitter text, were you even trying? 🤣 And don’t even get me started on spending way too much time deciding what song should automatically play the second someone visited your page. (Sorry to everyone’s speakers.)

Now, more than 20 years later, MySpace’s owners say they’re officially planning a relaunch. According to recent interviews, the goal isn’t to recreate today’s social media—it’s to bring back what made MySpace different: customizable profiles, music discovery, and genuine connections instead of endless algorithm-driven feeds and ads.

The owners say people are tired of addictive scrolling and are craving a platform that feels more personal and creative. Original co-founder Chris DeWolfe even believes the internet is finally ready for a MySpace comeback.

And honestly… a social network where I decide what I see instead of an algorithm? No constant ads? More music and less doomscrolling? That’s at least worth being curious about.

So… be honest…

If MySpace came back tomorrow, would you create an account again? 👀

⬇️ Yes or no? And more importantly… what song would be on your profile? 🎶💙
