The postpartum period is one of the most physically, mentally & emotionally challenging times. Postpartum depression, anxiety or OCD can often leave parents feeling overwhelmed & alone. As a christian counselor working out of a birth center and collaborating closely with our providers, I have witnessed many women and couples grow from surviving to thriving with the right support. I believe education and preparation is key.
I sat down with my friend and colleague, Dr. Chris Stroud, to discuss Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders. If you know someone who is pregnant, been through a difficult postpartum period or is currently in the first year with baby, tag them below and listen for practical insight and encouragement! (You can find this & other episodes on all podcast platforms too under "All Things Women's Health").

Counselor Amber Todd and Dr. Chris Stroud talk about the physical and mental circumstances that lead to post partum mood disorders.
